They can stick those horns up their asses. If all the games are going to be like this, I'll be watching them on mute. Sounds like a sea of hornets.

Welcome to soccer. Become friends with your mute button. I don't even notice them anymore.

1-1 RSA v. Mexico
I am going to probably doin analysis posts of each game I catch hopefully. I am a die hard footy fan, so enjoy it folks
Analysis: Mexico played a great 1st half but just couldn't finish anything. They looked pretty nervous when the got inside the 18. I liked the possession and the bulidup...just not the finishing. Their keeper, Perez, makes me nervous as hell also. He is pretty uncertain in committing to pressure forwards. Almost hurt him ball watching in the 89th minute. Smart move by coaching staff bringing in Blanco down 1-0. He is old and slow but with a young team that was a smart play bringing him in to slow down the game and calm everyone down.
RSA, you played a stellar match. 2nd half you actually looked like the better team. Sloppy defense cost you the goal, but the speed on the counter attack killed Mexico. It could net you a few upset victories. The speed was lightning, and the possession was phenomenal on the build up. The strike for the goal was impressive. World class stuff.
Final Verdict: I don't know wether to be impressed with RSA or disappointed in Mexico. Tie benefits RSA more then Mexico. Mexico MUST be more clinical in putting chances away against Uruguay and France. Nerves might have been a factor. Either way, great match, very exciting!
My Man of the Match: Kahne, Keeper for RSA, great saves held RSA in it, and man his punts and throws were dead accurate, he was responsible for the break in the 89th minute that hit the post from a punt. Very impressive for a 22 year old in his first WC. 2 more solid games and he can expect a European contract to float his way.

Mexico was absolutely robbed on that corner in the 1st half. What a mind numbingly bad call. Need some sort of limited replay for soccer.

No it was actually a GREAT call. Rule book states that it is offsides when the attackers are ahead in an offsides position of the SECOND TO LAST player, normally the goalie is the last player, when the ball is played. So when the goalie charged off his line and entered the play, the player on the back line, on the goal line, became the last player, and the goalie the second to last player. So when he did that it subsequently put the Mexico striker in an offsides position. Heads up refereeing. I was confused at first too, but then McManaman stated at half time that it was a close play between the keeper and the forward but a good call. And then I remembered that rule.

It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position. A player is in an offside position if:
• he is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the
A player is not in an offside position if:
• he is in his own half of the field of play or
• he is level with the second-last opponent or
• he is level with the last two opponents
Goalie does count as a second to last player. So when he moved up to try and take that corner he became the second to last player and the man on the goal line the last player. Ergo the Mexico attacker was in an offside position.
