The Vuvuzela's are part of the black South African soccer make-up, it would have taken a very brave Fifa to say no to them. When I lived here during the tail-end of apartheid and the early days of majority rule my friend and I (who now lives in the U.S.) were the only whiteys who would go to games. I guess we got used to the vuvuzelas quickly.
The vuvuzelas at games are not as noticeable to be honest, on tv they are a lot more noticeable but I will add that the noise you heard on your screen during the French game was made by 50% tourists and 50% locals. The Germans next to us had them, the French chick in her bikini near us had one, they were all over and both Safas and tourists were using em.
I will add one point about them:
The power of sport has been such a big factor in uniting all South African's that yesterday despite the annoyances the vuvuzela brings, I watched thousands of blacks and whites all dressed in S.A. soccer gear side by side watching the South African match on big screens and blowing on vuvzelas. This would have been anathema 20 years ago and I could not help but get a lump in my throat.

Argentina up next, this could be a disaster of a world cup or the team rallies around Diego and they could go far.

Yup I got up early...430am bright to watch Greece v. South Korea
South Korea 2 - Greece 0
South Korea looked strong. All game. They controlled every area of the pitch. They were strong on the break out, strong in the attacking third with possession and strong and responsible in the back end. Quick goals in the beginning of each half definitely set the tone. Greece was an absolute mess. They played a physical style, but looked out worked, out thought and out played, and it showed in the score line. I was expecting much more from Greece. I was disappointed. They just couldn't get their tactics right, the pressure SK put on when they played short ball possession led to a lot of poor decisions and turnover. But Greece was even missing on the long ball game...many times balls going to absolutely no one or right onto the foot of an SK player. They gave Korea way too much space in their own defensive end as well. It was an ugly sight. But Korea had a good game, surely they will build on it.
Big game for South Korea. A very important 3 points. It's still an early round case of, "Should I be impressed with South Korea? Or was Greece just that bad?" I think Korea is a good bet for the next round. They have to beat Nigeria, which will be an exciting match. South Korea is an incredibly fit team though, maybe one of the most fit in the tournament, so I think they can match up and beat Nigeria. Greece might as well start packing their bags. That performance was lackluster at its very best. Zero out the group stages and see you in four years maybe. They won't beat either Nigeria or Argentina.
Man of the Match: Park Ji-Sung. The skipper for SK had a GREAT game. It's no surprise why he plays in Manchester in the EPL. He was on the score sheet with the second half goal, which was a beauty, beating 2 defenders and tucking it home. He was a presence every time they got past half field. Calm and patient with the ball. He was the rock in the mid for SK.
Let's go England!!! For Queen and Country gents!
(Gotta go with my heritage folks, sorry )

I might be in the minority here, but I don't even notice the vuvuzela's anymore.

Well that pretty much sucked and looked awfully easy for England.

You have no faith in England's goal-keeping.

Good game for USA, crappy for England (except for Rooney).
