Sad, Ronaldo is a shell of his former self but if he has the ball in the 6 yard box it's going in.
He was out of shape before this injury and surgery and rehab probably won't help. I'm sure we've seen the last of Ronaldo in a signifigant role.
When he was at his best, he was the best forward I've ever seen play(just to note I'm 22 so I never saw Pele, Muller, and I just saw Maradona at the end of his career). But yea, Ronaldo was the best striker of his generation and it's not even close.
His goal scoring record for the first two clubs in Europe were...
PSV Einhoven - 42 goals in 46 games played.
FC Barcelona - 34 goals in 37 games played.
From the beginning of his career at PSV until the end of his days at Barcelona, he averaged almost a goal a game. Doing it in Holland is one thing, but to sustain that average after he moved to Spain, is exceptional.
It all depends on how long Ronaldo's contract is. If it's a long one, I'm sure he'll be very happy to collect a weekly wage, and not have to put any work in. Hell, I'm sure he'll be "training" in Brazil to make a come back!
Definitely done. AC Milan has Pato and now Ronaldo can sign a "FAT" (pun intended) contract with the MLS. Hopefully he'll stay clear of Los Angeles...
