That's what it sounds like. Less years though sounds like three but the negotiating isn't over. Remember nothing is signed yet. Nobody can sign till Wednesday I believe. Sounds like there could be an option for a fourth year being added to the deal.

You're right. It's roughly the same annual salary, but Artest got two fewer years.

Great acquisition if the Artest drama is kept at a minimum. Otherwise, it's going to be a messy locker room.

As long as he remembers that this is Kobes team, I think all will be good. We are getting an Artest that wants a ring more than an extra 2 mil a year. Let's hope for the best out of him!

Artest will wear uniform No. 37 in honor of the number of weeks that Michael Jackson's album "Thriller" was No. 1 on the charts.

The brawl was a horrific incident, but you act as if Artest has been doing this year in and year out over the last few seasons.

Is your memory that short? How about his lack of incidents the last few years for the Rockets?
He actually went to the Sacramento Kings before he went to the Rockets. And yes, he kept his nose clean there too...

He's definately less of a distraction than say of a Dennis Rodman. At least one rarely hear Ron Ron missing or being late to practice.

He's definately a nice upgrade over Ariza. As much as I hate seeing Ariza go, Ron is nasty in-your-face type of baller that the team needs. He'll be in the face of LeBron, Pierce, D-Wade when these games come in the season.
