Even with adding O'Neal and losing Odom, its still a plus for the Lakers. O'Neal is a double team threat that Odom isn't. He's a guy who can draw fouls on opposing bigs which leads to more FT opps for everyone. In addition, I don't think Kobe has to handle the ball THAT much more. You still have the PG, lets say Fisher as the primary ball handler. Then Walton starting at 3 who also initates offense. It's not a great lineup, like I said ideally, a core of Kobe, O'Neal, and Odom would be in purple and gold next season. But I'm not holding my breath.
