Oh this sucks. Not like we didn't know it was coming due to his age but man this sucks.

Quick story on Coach. At the first Festival of Books my family and I had the chance to meet coach and have him sign a book for us. We were like the third people in line and got right up to the table with him. My oldest daughter (now almost 14 but only 3 at the time) was with us and Coach Wooden automatically gravitated to her. He immediately had her sit in his lap and started talking to her and making her feel special. Really was quite something for us. Know who else was in line that day? Rafer Johnson. That's right ... USA Gold Medalist Rafer Johnson. The takeaway I got from that was that Coach Wooden exudes so much respect in people that even a gold medalist waits in line for him.

Positive thoughts and prayers right now for coach. I would love for him to stay with us but it would be wonderful for him to see Nellie again soon.

A truly wonderful man. Even decades after his last game he was still thought of as "coach" by so many people. Off the court he was just as great.
