Luke Walton needs to retire.
Kobe sure showed up tonight. Brick-fest!
I am not upset that he took the last shot though, even though he sucked tonight. You never, ever want someone else to take a shot when you got the best player in the NBA on your team.
Kobe did a good job though, playing decoy and drawing the defenders all night long with double teams. He gave Odom and Gasol a ton of easy buckets.
I didn't like how Kobe took 24 shots when he was having an off-day. Maybe if he took half of it, and let others shoot... the Lakers wouldn't be in the situation they were in. =\
Oh and Pau, make a ****ing free throw. You're not Shaq.
Andrew Bynum, feel free to show up any time now. With Okur out you are playing an undersized front court and gettng destroyed on the boards.
On another night I may say give the ball to Pau but like you said not the way he was shooting free throws last night. He and Lamar were the only ones that could make a bucket.
An off night for most of the team and they still had a chance to tie or win the game. Not a good sign for Utah. Lakers in 5.
Everyone looked atrocious last night.
4/23 Kobe?
Gasol looked soft and shot like ass at the line.
Odom was the only one who brought it last night.
Bynum was definitely retarded last night, but he got screwed at the same time.
- First foul was stupid. A loose ball foul when the game was like 2-0 or 0-0.
- Second foul was a good foul. Not good so that he had to sit, but good because it was right across the arm.
- Third Foul... Millsap flopped hard on the play. Bynum did a spin move down the paint and the replay clearly showed Millsap throw his body to the floor without Bynum touching him.
- Fourth Foul... Was this one another loose ball foul? I can't remember. But the refs were in no hurry to blow the whistle on him.
- Fifth Foul made me openly scream "BYNUM YOU USELESS S.O.B". The Lakers were bringing the ball up court and Bynum commits a dumb off the ball foul by holding his guy.
This is where it got ****ed up. According to whoever runs the stat sheet in Utah, it says he fouled out. The TNT crew even said Bynum was gone with 6 fouls. Only the people on KCAL were right with 5 fouls.
Would Phil have used Bynum during the last minute of play to guard Boozer? But he didn't, because the Lakers thought he fouled out. At the same time though, with a crappy game like that... Bynum didn't deserve to get back in.
The flopping in the NBA gets worse each year. Makes the games almost unwatchable. :( They really need to start handing out technical fouls for that crap. Yea, I know Fisher does this a lot as well, and I don't like it. I hate when announcers say "he sold that really well", it's like you're rewarding guys for faking it.
Phil Jackson 1, Craig Sager 0
That better end up on YouTube soon.
THe lead boys!
Phil Jackson may be 9 rings, but he can be the dumbest coach at times.
Bynum - 15 minutes of play. 5-10 FG. 10 Points! WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING ON THE BENCH!??!?!
Odom - 31 minutes and only... ONLY 4-8 on the field. WHERE ARE HIS TOUCHES?!
"Mr. I'm sick but I think I can take over the game" Kobe Bryant. 14-31 on the field. Don't get me wrong, Kobe is the best player in the NBA, hands down. But when he has an off shooting night, he will not shoot his way out of it.
Gasol - 6-14 on the field. That's not what I expect from Pau. Sure, 13 rebounds but that's because the Lakers can't shoot worth a damn tonight.
Totally unacceptable. But if this is what it will take for the Lakers to wake up, then so be it. But what a waste of a game against a very mediocre team.
