It's nice to see us beating teams we're supposed to beat. Couldn't say that about us the past couple years.
And to think this team looks so ****ing good without the services of Bynum and Ariza.
Then you didn't watch game 7 against the Suns two years ago. Kobe has a reputation of being one of the fiercest competitors in the game, but let's not go around and talk in absolutes about him being perfect. Kobe QUIT in game 7 against the Suns 2 years ago. We were getting blown out and he decided to stand around the perimeter and pass the ball. Was he trying to make a point? Maybe? Was he trying his best? Absolutely not. This was also the same guy who decided not to shoot jumpers in a regular season game against the Kings to once again prove a point.
Disagree, when it is all said and done, Shaq's legacy will be intact. He won 4 titles and was the centerpiece for 3. Kobe was an integral part of the team, but to say that the Lakers championships were made possible by Bryant is just a joke. Shaq was just plain dominant, I don't think he road anybody's coattails to a title except during the Heat.Originally Posted by OrangePuck

And I imagine when it's all said and done #34 will be hanging at STAPLES Center.
I wasn't mad at Kobe. I was extremely frustrated with our front office since the Shaq trade, so I didn't really blame him for wanting out. The Lakers really appeared to be in a black hole, since our brass had competing goals that led to directionless compromises and not causing this team to grow. Of course, things are really looking up for the Lakers now, but if Kobe had gotten traded I would have still been a fan of his, despite being a hardcore Laker fan.
