So apparently Pau is day to day. He will fly with the team to Houston, where he will likely be a game time decision.

Pau Gasol will miss the remainder of the Lakers 4 game road trip. Pau will be re-assessed in the next few days to determine the full extent of the injury.

The x-ray being negative isn't necessarily a good thing for an ankle sprain. I had a sprain that came back "negative" and was on crutches for 2 months. Hopefully his is a week-to-week thing, but I'm depressed. :(

Time for Kobe to prove his MVP worth.

Make it 22 in a row.

Or maybe not. 18-5 so far in the 3rd quarter. Jeff Van Gundy commentating is enough for them to go in one of those patented slumps.

Not that one game makes it or breaks it, but he had a TERRIBLE game. Well, I didn't watch all of it, so I take it back. He had a TERRIBLE first half. I counted four times where the defense collapsed on him and he forced shots. Two other times where he went to reach for a steal and then gave up on the play defensively. Granted, the whole team looked awful early on, but he certainly didn't do much to set the tone early on. Wish he had half the heart of Turiaf sometimes.

Kobe's second half was much worse than the first.

For some reason, this team reminds me a lot of the Sacramento Kings of the first half of the 2000's. Good bench, mobile guy down low, deep 3pt shooter, smart backcourt. . .not a lick of defense.

This team is giving up WAY too many points right now and they just don't seem to care about it. For all the talk of how good their defense is today on the tv, I just don't see it. There must have been about five pick and rolls that the Lakers just did a piss poor job of rotation on in the first two quarters. It's not just the points either. It's how they're giving them up. I may be wrong, but this team is missing a guy like Rick Fox. There's no guy out there that plays regularly who is nasty like that.

^ Ariza and Bynum will definitely help the defense. Also not leaving Farmar and Vujacic out there together will also help the D. :p I agree about pick-and-rolls though, we can't guard those for ****!
