This seems reactionary and desperate.
I'm happy! :)
Stupid move. The Lakers have an even better shot at winning the West now.
hehehe.....first the Lakers put the Sacramento Kings to sleep and now Phoenix. It'll be a decade before we hear from these scrubs again.
"i love playin' on the westside, though i miss playin' on the eastside..."
Wow, thank you Phoenix! Steve Kerr and Chris Wallace for co-GMs of the year!
Wow....just wow. What the hell are the Suns thinking?
TERRIBLE move..... The Suns are all about running past bigger teams, now they dropped a 500 pound weight in the back seat of that Porche. Good.... one less team standing the Lakers' way.
This could work if Shaq gets back his drive to win another title - the Suns really needed a big man down low, and Shaq can still rebound and block shots. Still not worth trading away Marion IMO, but it might give the Suns a boost. I'll wait and see how he does before I rip the Suns any further.
That's kind of the jist of it. I think Kerr is convinced that the roster they had wasn't going to win the title. Not with Bynum, Gasol, Duncan, Chandler, and even a guy like Yao in the division. So he's taking a gamble by trading away Marion for Shaq, it makes them bigger but I don't know how effective it'll be. The Suns now have exactly one player in their starting 5 who can play some resemblance of defense(Bell).
I doubt it will screw up chemistry. The Suns chemistry was pretty bad as it is. Amare and Marion just plain don't like each other. Damn near all of Shaq's teammates like him, I think he'll be good for their chemistry actually, mostly because Marion is gone.Quote:
