Nah, Theta throws a tournament every year that gets the frats (and a few random teams) to play against each other.
Basketball, girls, and charitable donations=feeling good about yourself while still fulfilling basic testosterone-laden needs.
My team was out in the first round back when I played... but I blame my teammates.
Back to the 2008 class, Jrue Holiday would be a huge signing, but I think that with Anderson and Lee in the fold, the front court becomes far more critical.
Kevin Love will not be in Westwood very long. Mata is a senior this season. Wright is transferring. Mbah-a-Moute was eyeing the NBA this year, so he could leap after the season if he gets back on track. In the perfect storm, we're left with Aboya and Keefe as the only post players on the roster in 2008, since at the moment we have no post players committed in the 2008 incoming class. Heck, even if we got a post player for 2008, he'd be a wide-eyed freshman.
The guy we're looking at the hardest, Drew Gordon, is considered something of a project. Another guy we're looking at hard, Tyrese Breshers, is talented but only 6'6". The other guys that are rumored are not upper-echelon recruits or are not very likely at this point.
It's weird, but while we're stocked on post players and short on guards now, the pendulum might very quickly swing the other way in two years. I mean, right now, we're bringing in two guards in 2008 and trying to get another one (Holiday).
So , Collison is officially staying?
I saw an article in the times saying he was "going to make an announcement in the next couple days" a few days ago. Didnt see the follow up. Did he really need to lets us know he was going to make an announcement if he was staying? Thanks Darren that was really not necessary.
I see a big lineup next year, and a physically imposing team.
Collison
Shipp
Mbah
Love/Keefe
Mata
The big key will be Mbah's switch to small forward. If he wants to have an NBA career, which is very possible, he needs to prove he can dominate both ends at SF for us in college.
Collison is staying for sure, as is LRMM
