This is such a great story that nobody seems all that interested in. The fact that the bold, brash, arrogant Jets are rallying behind Dennis Byrd, they took his jersey out to the coin toss last weekend, doesn't seem to fit in with the public face the media wants to put on the Jets. I love it.
EDIT: This Sunday, Byrd will actually accompany the Jets onto the field for the AFC Championship Game toss as their honorary captain. It will be the first time Byrd has walked onto the field with the Jets since Sept. 5, 1993, when the team honored him in the season opener just 10 months after he was temporarily paralyzed.
That's going to be a heavy moment. Way to motivate your team Rex Ryan.
