Bring it on ladies
As one of the surprisingly many Panthers fans(at least according to the last 2 seasons) on LGK...I am mildly optimistic about the offense...and extremely worried about the defense. Baltimore ran through us like **** through a goose. Moore looked ok, so did Clausen...but with no receivers beyond Steve Smith, it may be a long year. Not sure why Fox-y hasn't been locked up...he's been a great coach and the team still responds. He certainly has not been set up for success in the final year of his contract. 37% turnover in the line-up...and the best defensive player left(Beason) shifted to a position he is not comfortable with. Might be a tough season.![]()
Frickin' hate the Chargers. Hate the Spano's, hate the GM and now hate Philip Rivers. What an arrogant bunch who have won nothing.
Sorry but I love Fireman Ed...![]()
A couple thoughts for today:
1.) Brett's back. **** it, go get em grey. I always have and always will love watching this guy play and I could care less how old he is or how and when he decides to play. As long as he still has it (which evidenced by last year he does) and he isn't drooling all over himself and gimping around....roll with it.
2.) What the **** has gotten into Tony Dungy. I am a Bucs fan and a HUGE admirer of the man, the coach and the leader for his humble approach and demeanor. HOWEVER, while a man like Jon Gruden would come across as being a very egotistical person on acount of his outspoken nature, steadfast commitment to his way or the highway....I think Dungy who in recent years and particularly since the SB win with the Colts, has become a bit more high profile, is now letting all the attention go to his head a bit and is growing quite the little ego himself...which I find disappointing.
All I've heard the guy do over the last couple years is, 'Oh I'm gonna tell Michael Vick the way, and then bitch him out publicly when he ****s up,' and similar other cases. Now this thing with Rex Ryan of the Jets (who I'm actually NOT a fan of, or his team). To come out and blast a coach, who's been reasonably successful in his own right, for running his team and talking to his men in his own way in public....no need for that Tony.
You're getting a little holier than thou at this point and its sorta giving me a headache...and some other people it seems as well. Be true to yourself and realize that you are a football coach, not some sage of life and knowledge. You're family man, a players coach, religious and the proponent of a clean lifestyle. That's fine and admirable. But don't bash people just because they aren't like you as it doesn't automatically make them bad people or any worse than you are.
You're calling out everyone around you and lets remember, you only have ONE SB ring, you could never get any sort of offense going in Tampa and it was the offense you inhereted (possibly one of the best ever assembled) that got you over that hump to the ring. Not saying you didn't have anything to do with it, cause you had a whole lot to do with it, but you didn't stumble upon some holy trinity of football coaching skill/knowledge to get it done. Certainly not enough to call out every coach and player that shows a finger, had a threesome, cusses in front of little old ladies or breaks wind at a funeral.
So Tony,. Get outta here with that ****, farm your own. land.
3.) Why do I think that the Raiders () will be better this year? I hate them, and take a great deal of joy at their perpetual fail...so for me to say that means something. I think the Lions will be better as well...but that O Line?
4.) My Bucs will not be much improved in the win column, but I think we might actually resemble an NFL team this year again after last years JVesque raggle taggle. I'll take that for now, its amazing that since I got to see a SB win in my lifetime how much patience that gives you as a fan.
5.) The Chargers, will get over the hump this season...whether that translates to a SB WIN...I don't know but they will go deep in the postseason and look good doing it. Rivers is a bad boy.
Teams that will not live up to the hype:
49ers(not yet sorry and I'm a fan), Redskins, Saints (dodges vegetables), NYJ
Teams that will surprise:
Bengals, Raiders, Arizona, Green Bay and Philadelphia

Good post O...
I have had the NFL network on all day...I cannot stop humming 'I can't break away', and 'better snatch and grab it'...f'n commercials!!!!!! Good God!![]()
The Packers game aired on NFL Network tonight, so I didn't have to watch a stream, and I got to see the game in HD. The offense looked great again, but just like last week, the defense was pretty shaky. then again, it's only the preseason, and the defense was great last year and should be this year. Still, it's a bit disconcerting to see the team give up so many points against teams like the Seahawks tonight and the Browns last weekend.
I'll be checking out the Vikings/Niners game tomorrow to see Brett Favre. The Packers play again on Thursday night against the Colts on ESPN.
Anyone watch that Rams/Pats preseason game last night. Rams looked remarkably better, the Pats defense was getting run over. And the Pats have this kid, Gronkowski...wow, he's a big dumb(in a good way) tight end who is gonna be a weapon.
