The ESPN QBR Rating
It's supposed to take into account all kinds of statistical information and weight it based on importance of the play and stuff like that. It doesn't counts yards after the catch or interceptions from dropped or friendly tips and it accounts for QB rushing yards. It weights plays in the fourth quarter when your team is behind.
It sounds like a complicated, subjective, after-the-fact load to me. Anyone else have an opinion?
I thought it would be cool because i assumed you might be able to compare this new rating to older player's stats simply by looking at older box scores but allot of it is based off of situation specific plays correct? Depending on when during the game a play was executed, the score? Some of these might only be comparable to older players via film. Im not too sold on it i like the idea of fumbles becoming a part of the rating though.
