Would Montana, Young, Bradshaw, Starr, Unitas, Elway, Marino, Favre, Manning do the same thing if they were teamed with Belichek and that system? Probably
They are all great QB's and hard to pick just one as the greatest.........
I'm pretty sure each of those guys were teamed with a great coach that had a system that worked just as well as Belicheat's does. That being said with 4 Super Bowl appearances in 7 years (and 3 wins so far) and an 18-0 record (also so far) he's the leader on a team that has already won more in a single season than anyone in history.
I'm not a Patriots mark I generally hate Boston/New England teams cuz the fans... I just have to call this one like I see it.
Gee, I thought Favre was the greatest...what with the weekly Farve ass-licking carnival the media puts on. I'll be glad to see Favre go. If he doesn't come back for yet ANOTHER "final" year that is.
As for the original question? Brady, maybe...but Montana was very, very good in a system that put a lot more pressure on the QB to perform consistently and accurately.
If Brady wasn't such a damn robot, I'd agree whole heartedly. But maybe that's why he's the best...
HE'S A ROBOT!!
Dieter Brock, Ryan Leaf and Todd Marinovich get my vote.
Marino at the same age in this Pats offense would DESTROY other teams in a way like none of us could possibly imagine.
Elway would also be very, very good.
I may be in my 30s, but I'm not old enough to remember teams from the 70's (or very early 80s for that matter), so I can't speak intelligently about them.
