Lane was fired by Alcula in record time and was a whiny douchebag in TN.
As a Oklahoma fan, I'm laughing. You bring back the guy that was in the middle of the whole Reggie Bush scandle, nice.

As a USC fan, this move is disturbing. Hes appears to be a pile of crap with no morals or ethics. lets just pray he doesn't do too much damage before Mike Garrett wakes up.
he has been here one day adn already committed a NCAA rules violation by calling current recruits at UT to take them with him.
Maybe hes here just to get us through the sanctions that are already on the way
If he maintains the culture that Carroll brought, and brings back the same coaching staff that flourished here, including Chow, then they will be fine.
If he doesn't, and ****s it up, they will drift back into mediocrity.
Regardless, if the NCAA hits USC with the death penalty, its over anyway.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.
I think it's a good move personally. In just a year at Tennessee he vastly improved a team that looked like **** the year before. Plus he's bringing in his dad to run the defense and more importantly Ed Oregeron one of the best recruits in college football. Obviously recruiting is the life blood of any program and Kiffin and Oregeron are among the best. If 'SC can avoid sanctions they'll still be a powerhouse program, especially if they can lure Chow.
So what if he was a "whiny doucehbag" so are a ton of other college coaches. He came within a blocked field goal of beating the national champs, this guy is a talented coach and a fantastic recruiter.
