Yes, he is the ****. If he didn't get hurt at end of the season and would have participated in the combine..he would have been a top 5 player. So at 10, he is a steal.

I'm still surprised Maualuga's on the board. I realize he had a slow 40 time, but geez.

Leave it to the Raiders to draft a fast guy that can't catch. Al Davis is such a tool.

Raiders second pick... a safety that even Mel Kiper Jr. didn't have rated higher than a free agent pick up.

Thank god I'm gone until Uncle Al dies or sells the team.

Read some tidbits that teams didn't feel very good about Maualuga's mental capacity. And that he tends to go for the big hit and run around like a chicken with its head cut off that the other USC LBs had to cover for him. Which might explain why Cushing and Matthews went ahead of Rey. We'll see obviously.

I was explaining this exact scenario to my buddy (A's fan who hates Al Davis) when it happened. I do enjoy that Crabtree ended up across the Bay for constant contrast and comparisons for the next few years. Although I do feel a bit bad for DHB; Draft day is supposed to be a great day and he's got every analyst implying he was a bust. Then again, the #7 money will probably console him.

I really hope Curry pans out, he seems like a very down to earth guy.

They were in a tough spot at #3. I imagine most teams weren't anxious about trading up and paying #3 money. Curry didn't fit the prototype of what they wanted out of a 3-4 OLB, so they opted for a 3-4 DE instead.

I suppose they could have traded with the Jets since Sanchez was a popular pick for Seattle at #3. But New York was intent on not dealing its 2010 1st, which is the only way I'd slide down from #3 to #17. And then if you slide down that far, I'm not sure Jackson is available.

Mangini had familiarity with some of the Jet players, so he got value out of backup guys he knew.

I doubt he'll see #7 money from Al.
