I think the Niners will win but I like rooting for Leinart and Fitz. It's only a few bucks to make it more interesting. If I were to place down a wager of real value tonight it would be on the Bengals. I think they'll win by more than a FG but the NFL is much harder for me to peg than college football. Maddening defense, Lively running game and Jake using his smarts in the throwing game. There were a few plays in yesterday's game where last year's Jake maybe tries to make but instead smartly threw the ball away a bit. I think last season brought him down to earth a bit. It's nice to finally see what Jake and the coaching staff were talking about when they said, "This year's Drew Carter is much different than the guy who suited up last season." Last year, he misran a few routes, dropped balls, got chewed out by Jake & John Fox. And in game 1, he makes two sweet TD catches. That second one was a beauty on the part of the OL for protecting Jake, Jake for throwing in the smallest of windows and Carter for hauling it in and keeping both feet in bounds.
If game 1 was any indication of the rest of the season, I'm really excited.
One question, though. Where the hell is Dwayne Jarrett?
