My initial reaction to this story was to look at his past record of criminality and have the usual cynical reaction. After hearing teamates reactions and constant affairmations that he really was working very hard to change his life, the raw emotion in their voices went a long way towards changing my opinion. It's a shame, plain and simple...mostly because his children will grow up without a father.
