    Default Seahawks Release Shaun Alexander

Seahawks cut Alexander - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

I guess this was expected since the Seahawks acquired Julius Jones. A tough move for the former MVP and i'm pretty sure he wont have trouble finding himself a new home. Carolina can certainly use his services.

The Panthers are in the market for a big soft running back?

Shaun Alexander has been garbage for the last 2 years and is one of the biggest pussies in the entire league. Someone will take a chance on him, but if that team is depending on Alexander to be the featured guy, they will be disappointed.

Well i concur with the idea that he's been a big puss the past two years but he's only that far away removed from his MVP campaign. With the one year exception that was Stephen Davis, Carolina hasn't had a dependable running back since they came into expansion. With Deangelo Williams slated to take over the position, i wouldn't mind using him as a dependable backup. But given that he would more than likely want to sign with a team who will feature him, chances of going to Carolina is slim to none.

A big difference with Alexander when he's not playing for a new contract.

2 years is a lot of time in the NFL, especially for RBs. If you think Shaun Alexander is anywhere close to the MVP RB he was 2 years ago you are sorely mistaken.

He's not any faster than he was 2 years ago and he's certainly not tougher. And probably most important he doesn't get to run behind Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson.

Sucks for him because Seattle just upgraded their offensive line when they brought back Mike Wahle. I'm pretty sure he'll find a home within a month.
