Say what you want about KD and his head coaching ability, the guy was (and is) a Bruin at heart. It was nice to see Skippy give KD some credit for this class in the interviews I heard. KD is a good guy who just wasn't a head coach.

I actually didn't mean it as an insult. He did a solid job recruiting this year all things considered.

No worries. I thought your comment was spot on and was following up. KD was a good guy in the wrong job. Hopefully Skippy can improve on the recent track run.

Expect the NEXT recruiting class to be a "monster" one... That's when UCLA will be pulling in recruits with the big boys. Skippy means business!

I'm hoping my cousin Jake gets a chance to play this coming season. He has 3 years of eligibility remaining (he was redshirted for the 1st). It's frustrating for the whole family who goes and watches the games, but has to watch Jake sitting on the sidelines. He came onto the team, very highly touted, too....but apparently he wan't one of the coaches "favorites", so he never got the call. Maybe with the new coach, my family will have more reasons to cheer in 2008.

We need some blue-chippers on defense next year pretty badly, especially in the front seven.

Tennessee-UCLA football game moved to Labor Day - Los Angeles Times

The Bruins altered their schedule and will open against Tennessee at the Rose Bowl on Sept. 1 to accommodate television.

The game was originally scheduled for Sept. 6, but will now be ESPN's Labor Day game at 5 p.m. What was previously UCLA's season opener, Aug. 30 against Fresno State, has been moved to Sept. 27.
