The spread for the KSU game jumped from -10.5 to -11.5 for next Saturday even with the news about Prince not playing.

    So soon you forget?
2006 to a mediocre Bruin team & Oregon St.
    2007 Stanford & Oregon.
    2008 Oregon St.

So, who will it be this year? You know it'll happen at least once. Why not the Bruins?
Pretty much what Rocky said here. I'm a Trojans fan, and it's all fun and games this early in the season but if you're not worried about UCLA this year, you're not paying attention. UCLA is changing direction and it's good for the conference and the rivalry. And like he said, the last three years they've lost games that they had NO business losing. How do you dismantle just about everyone you play like then ranked #5 Ohio State, then ranked #23 Oregon, and eventually then ranked #8 Penn State, but lose to Oregon State? Not to mention the Freshman QB, who has looked good so far, but not good enough for a championship or even Rose Bowl run.

Talking trash the week of the game in a thread about that game is one thing. To come into a thread about UCLA football two and a half months and do it is bad form.

Good on the Bruins for the road win.

Giving up 9 pts. doesn't work for you?

How could you possibly be blaming the defense?

Maybe a bit harsh, but I thought they looked unprepared for the wildcat formations and if not for a little luck and poor play by Coffman, would have given up more points. D. Thomas had me quite worried there for a while.

They looked worst in the 2nd half when the offense wasn't eating clock--that's to be expected of a defense that lacks depth like ours.

Concur. Seemed like K-State was in 3rd & short situations much of the night. They also had 3 more first downs and 14 more plays.

    Defensive Stat Rankings (Fox Sports):

    Points / Game: 17th
    Yards / Game: 16th
    Passing Yards / Game: 37th
    Rushing Yards / Game: 14th

Frankly, I thought we would have better stats by this point of the season, and if the defensive penalties don't go away we are in trouble...

The penalties really are cause for concern, but otherwise I really can't complain about our defense.
