They can certainly win by having the best record. They will get no money or be recognized as the champs for the next two years
This.
I'd be interested to see what the Rose Bowl would do if USC did "win" the Pac-10. Would they take the next-best Pac-10 team, or go to an at-large?
I'd be surprised if 'SC topped the field this year though. Last season really blew the conference wide open. My early pick is Arizona.
I'm with USCKINGSFAN, USC isn't winning the division anyway. But after this year it will only go downhill for a few years. Reggie Bush is and will always be a punk ass bitch. Just glad to be proven right.
Next years recruting class should be good. All of the freshmen can redshirt and play for the national title without losing a year of actual playing time.
I feel bad for the Junior and Senior class this year. They do not have a shot unless they have an unused redshirt year. If you are a soph this year you will still be able to win your senior year.
What's a shame is that the Pac-10 as a whole takes a huge hit from all this. As was made clear last year, the rest of the conference has bridged the gap, with just about every team taking strides forward (with the exception of ASU, who should be better this season with Sullivan gone, and Washington State, who's just hopeless). Unfortunately, the media will just write it off as USC being weaker due to sanctions, not the conference being stronger.
USC will still be a 2 loss or less program adn would be a top 10 team again this year
