I don't even consider it a miracle anymore with Jake Long being the #1 pick.

Like I said earlier, the Rams hold the key to this draft. What they do can change a lot of things. Plus there is no guarantee the Falcons take Dorsey if he is even on the board. Ryan might be that enticing, and with 3 second round picks, they can fill defensive needs there.

So I think it is very possible Chris Long is there for the Raiders to take.

I saw on the bottomline the other day Kiper had the Long's going one and two for whatever that's worth. Other than SC I don't watch enough college ball to have a preference on who they pick.

Jake Long has agreed to a deal with Miami, so he is a lock to be the #1.

Chris Long very well could be the #2 pick. The Rams need a lot of help on the dline, so I think they'll either go with Dorsey or Long.

I just heard some 'insider' Raider draft news...

If Chris is there at 4, there will be an internal debate of who to pick, Chris or McFadden. And McFadden will be the pick if Chris is gone, with a slight chance they find a team to trade down with.

Also, expect to see Fabian traded this weekend.

Not too surprised we got McFadden, but I was really hoping we'd pick Dorsey or Gholsten. Our defense was terrible against the run last season, and our d-line looks like it'll be one of the worst in the league. Kelly's overpaid and coming off a major knee injury, Burgess is inconsistent and unhappy with his contract, and Sands and Warren suck.

Oh well - I guess we can look forward to a Jamarcus-McFadden duo. If our o-line can protect them.

Raiders just traded a few spots in the 4th round to draft a DB out of UConn. He's listed as a CB but Mayock mentioned he could play a little FS. Also is said to be a beastly special teams player and was the fastest DB at the combine.

Drafting a CB is a tad surprising, but we need a return guy and our special teams coverage could be better. So I'm fine with this pick.

Kiper and Mayock both liked this pick by the way.

We traded Fabian for a 4th, to the Ravens.

I like the Tyvon pick, if he sticks at CB he'll have more of a chance to play nickel or dime situations...right now Routt will probably play the nickel.

We have some good pieces at the skill positions...but I'm worried about our lines. Sure Cable is a great oline coach, but even some players are can't be helped to even be servicable (Harris), I hope i'm wrong, but I doubt it. And the dline is the same from last year, minus Sapp....the same line that struggled against the run. So my optimism can only go so far...

Arman Shields a WR with the pick the Raiders got from Baltimore.

This one is strange, really wanted a lineman either offense or defense with this pick.

Here's what Scouts INC has on him

Strengths: Has adequate foot speed and can get a clean release working against press coverage. Possesses good top-end speed, tracks the ball well and can stretch the field. Reads defenses well and can locate seams when sees zone coverage. Uses shoulder to set up breaks and can get inside leverage on defensive backs. Tough and is fearless going over the middle. Catches the ball in-stride and is fluid turning upfield. Stays focused and makes tough catches in traffic. Catches the ball away from frame and isn't going to drop many passes that should catch. Takes pride in blocking and flashes the ability to sustain once in position. Shows good restraint rather than getting flagged for clipping when can't get into position but also has a mean streak and flashes a powerful punch when is able to square up. Plays with emotion and is a competitor. Has experience returning kickoffs and can contribute on special teams.

Weaknesses: Undersized, lacks the frame to comfortably add weight and is going to get pushed around by bigger corners. While is smooth getting in and out of cuts and runs adequate routes, lacks the burst to consistently separate from man coverage. Doesn't time jumps well and isn't going to win many jump balls at this point. Is faster than quick, lacks the elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field and isn't a big-play threat after the catch. Runs too upright and takes some big hits. Played at a small school and there is some concern about ability to adjust to the speed of the game at the NFL level. Missed 2006 season finale with an injury, missed ten games with a season-ending knee injury in 2007 and durability is a concern.
