    it's easier to make money playing poker. You don't have to worry about things like weather conditions, fixed races, determining whether your horse is trying to win or just getting a workout, freak accidents, undisclosed injuries, or days when your horse simply doesn't hold true to his form.

    Ah, got it.

    I was referring to actually working in the book as in being a cashier/ticket writer. Handicapping horses for a living is damn respectable, but something I'm nowhere close to!
