Further proof women should stay away from professional sports... Kelly's not bad. I didn't hear the remark but I can just imagine the context it was said in based on how she and Nick interact and comment.
It would be nice if they provided some context for her comment.
Or maybe that's just me and my incessant need to know the whole story before passing judgment.
Chick Hearn's comment, in my opinion, is not racist at all. The monkey comment has to do with a dude who was hanging on a rim. Whether the rim rocker is black or white the comment applies.Originally Posted by TONGA

As for the golf chick....I have always been opposed to the onslaught of female sports anchors because 99% of them suck. I just didn't think anyone, less than a year on the job, would be dumb enough to say something like that.
Kelly Tilghman has been with the Golf Channel for years hosting a variety of shows, and she played college and professional golf. She's been around the game her whole life, and around tour pros her entire professional career.
Again, I didn't hear the comment, but knowing her style from watching years of the Golf Channel I suspect she and Nick were joking around about the young players not getting a fair chance while Tiger's still playing on tour. My guess is that there's nothing to see here. A loose comment was made; one where you say "crap, that's gonna be taken the wrong way" right after you say it. You ever hear Nick Faldo or Johnny Miller make a loose comment like that??
