Has anyone backpacked in the Sierras this summer??
We are headed out this weekend for a ten day trip.....just wanted some first hand info on conditions. We are heading out of Mineral King and going over Farewell Gap into the Golden Trout Wilderness area....we are worried that our first two nights camps will be dry!! Was hoping someone here could shed some light on that!!!
Crazy dry winter up there this (last) year! Last year we had to backpack in the eastern Sierras (instead of the southern/western) because of too much snow....now we're worried about water. What a difference a year makes!!

update:
Plenty of water....a bit of a hike to it from the first, seventh, and eighth nights' sites....but it was flowing nonetheless. Mosquitoes weren't bad either.
Got back to news of the Parise signing......still surfing the net to see what other UFAs signed and where!
