Reggie Miller would almost be the next best argument for a 2-guard leading a top level team, but they had a hard time getting past the Knicks because the Knicks had Ewing. They matched up well with Chicago the one year, 1998 when they went 7 in the East finals, because Chicago's strength was also at the 2. Of course they got past the Knicks that year because Ewing was just coming back off a broken wrist and had been out for five months.Quote:

I find Charlie Rosen's article laughable. Does this guy even do his homework? Can ANYONE explain to me how the Lakers are supposed to be saving money? How they could go after all the free agents that they want? Could they have had Jason Kidd? Yeah. Sure. I would have preferred they got him about 8 years ago like they were rumored to along with Shawn Marion for Kobe though. I don't want to trade Odom, Farmar, Bynum, and likely something else for a 50 something year old Jason Kidd. Just not smart. And KG? Does anyone think that Kevin Freaking McHale is going to trade him to the Lakers for that same package?
