    Just an update. . .

For the record, I can't wait to see this blow up in the Lakers face. I said it earlier and I said it again, the biggest mistake they ever made was giving Kobe the keys to the car. Now his petulance is going to bite them in the ass again.

    Kobe,
I love your winning attitude. I love that you're driven to win. But you're acting like a punk right now. And if you do leave the Lakers, i will never wear your shoes or your jerseys ever again.

    the kobe bryant saga continues.

In addition to the video the group has an audio clip captured on a cell phone on June 10th.

Bryant is approached with the query, "Please tell us you're staying!"

His response: "Get a [Chicago] Bulls uniform fellas."

Wow, so the Lakers have no cards to play now that Bryant is leaving. Who do we get in return? Ben Gordon & ???

Rumor is a combination of Gordon, Deng, Wallace, the 9th pick, and Thomas.

If the Bulls offer Gordon, Deng, Wallace, and the 9th, the Lakers would be STUPID to not jump at that. I doubt that's what happens though considering who's in charge. It's probably going to be Gordon, Wallace, and Nocioni.

Ben Wallace is RIDICULOUSLY overpaid and Kobe changes his mind every other week anyway.

Know who else is RIDICULOUSLY overpaid? Kwame Brown. I'd gladly pay Ben Wallace what he's making over Brown and what he's making. Wallace would be MUCH better on the Lakers considering the way the team plays basketball. Much more of a slow-down pace. Guys could play a little harder on defense because they'd have an actual low post defender down there.

Brown being overpaid has nothing to do with Wallace being overpaid though. As good as his defense/hustle is, playing 4 on 5 on offense isn't too great of an idea.

You DO realize that Brown has never averaged more than a bucket a game more than Wallace over his career, right?

Let's see, a moody, malcontented, nearly special-ed intelligence level baller with small hands, or a hard-working, motivated defensive and board beast who averages nearly the same offense? Yeah, it's a tough one...

However, the Lakers simply cannot make any trade that does not bring back an above average point guard. It would be asinine to reduce your skill level without addressing your most pressing needs.
