Good night of fights last night. I picked the big 3 all wrong! Nog should've been given another 5-10 seconds to recover considering his track record, but seeing as how he stumbled when he got up, I'm not sure it woulda made a difference.

Still can't stand Rashad. WTF was with that kiss in the 2nd round. That is not the way a champion should act. But Greg Jackson is quite clearly one of the best coaches in mma.

Kongo looked good. His TD defense is improving. IMO he needs one more win over a guy like Gabriel Gonzaga in order to get his shot.

Nog / Couture should fight each other next. It would be a good tilt between legends.

That's all I got for now.

Yea, I can't stand Evans either. Hopefully Rampage will knock him out next.

Hopefully the win can help Rampage get his life back together

Man, that Shogun / Coleman fight was absolute ****! I was really hoping for it to go the distance just because I am fairly certain that Coleman would have pulled out the decision. Shogun looked like crap. His cardio is non existent. One more fight like that, and Dana will cut his ass. I know he's coming off of knee surgery but that was just pathetic. At least Coleman has the excuse of being 44 years old.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head here OH. Although Shogun got the late stoppage he was far from impressive. I also got the feeling that Coleman woud have eeked out a decision.

I thought that Shogun did a good job of weathering the early storm that I think everyone expected. Coleman always starts his fights off well.

But he really should have finished him off at the end of the first or even the beginning of the second. Coleman couldn't even make it to his corner at the end of the first.

I think any other legitimate top 10 LHW would have finished Coleman at that point...

If that same Shogun shows up against Chuck at UFC 97, Chuck will run over him. And that's pretty sad considering Chuck's performances as of late.

Winners

Dan Henderson

Solid performance by Henderson. Basically used his wrestling and ground and pound to control the fight and I thought for the most part got the better of Franklin standing up. Franklin is a pretty solid all around guy so finishing him is pretty tough unless your Anderson Silva. So it was a good outing from Henderson. What's next for him is obvious, a coaching apperence on TUF and a fight with Michael Bisping. A fight he should win to earn a rematch with Anderson Silva but you never know...

Shogun Rua

As OH mentioned not a good performance by Shogun even though he got the TKO win. He weathered the predictable Mark Coleman early storm and then started beat on with punches and knees. Coleman was gassed by the end of the first and the old Shogun would have taken him out then or at the beginning of the second. Instead Shogun is too gassed to stop a few half hearted takedown attempts and can't really work a submission. He got the stoppage late but was not very impressive.

What's next for him is a fight against the Iceman. Hopefully Shogun comes into that fight in better shape, Chuck might be over the hill but he's still a dangerous striker. It's a solid fight and one I'm looking forward too. I just hope that Shogun recaptures the form that he had when he won the 2005 MW Grand Prix in PRIDE. It's hard to remember that this guy was at one point considered the best 205 pounder in the world even though he didn't have a belt.

Rousimar Palhares

Pretty good win over a very experienced fighter in Jeremy Horn by Palhares. I thought Palhares should have finished Horn off, especially when he had Horn's back but after the fight it was reported that Palhares broke a bone in his hand. Plus Horn is a tough guy to submit. He seems liked a solid prospect. Maybe a fight against Jason McDonald makes sense.

Alan Belcher

Sweet Guillotine by Belcher, he was getting dominated by Kang but credit to him for staying in the fight and taking his chance when he got it. Belcher is a decent fighter but is probably slated for gate keeper status his entire career.

Maybe he could fight Palhares.

Marcus Davis

Davis and Lytle had a good fight, could have gone either way I think. Davis is skilled and well rounded. Anyone he fights will be in for a tough scrap. Not sure who he would fight next, maybe a rematch against Lytle because it was so close. Maybe a fight against Karo would make sense. I think it would be an exciting one.

Did you guys catch the affliction show? I found it online.

-Fedor, what can you say about him. He truly is a machine. The ironic thing is Arlovski was doing pretty well, he was matching Fedor strike for strike and I thought was winning the round. He tries a flying knee and Fedor caught him perfectly with right hand square on the chin. Arlovski was out before he hit the ground...

-Josh Barnett put on a solid performance but he couldn't finish Gilbert Yvel. Yvel showed a ton of heart but Barnett basically controlled him in every round.

-Vitor Belfort almost killed Matt Lindland. Put him down with a big hook and landed 2-3 huge haymakers while LIndland was on the ground. Good to see Vitor back. He looked great at 185. I've never seen Lindland beat up so bad, even when he loses its a grind it out war. He got killed by Vitor...
