I blame psychopuck for getting me hooked on the UFC. Went to his place Satutruday to hang out and watch the PPV. Amazing it was.
Watched some UFC on Spike the past couple of nights. Was totally awed by the Paul Taylor /Marcus Davis fight. Really though Davis was done and the ref should've called it. Incredible comeback. I'm hooked.

Hadn't seen anyone post this yet. Figured I would. . .
Silva-Griffin to lead UFC charge into Philly - MMA Fighting Stances: Mixed martial arts intelligence from the cage and ring - USATODAY.com
Interesting matchup. I think Silva knocks him out pretty fast, but at least it will be a fight. Though, who knows, maybe Forrest fights like he did against Bonnar and we have another counter-punching match. Guess we'll see after it happens.

I'm excited for this fight. Anderson Silva's camp has been complaining about his recent opponents saying that they are one-dimensional and don't really motivate the champ. I think that's BS but anyways his camp got their wish. While I don't think Forrest is a great fighter he does a lot of things pretty well and he won't pull guard on Silva or anything.

I'm also leaning towards Silva, but I wouldn't count Forrest out at all. Sure, his chin is sometimes made of glass, but he trains with Randy and has good gameplans. I mean, did anyone give him a shot against Shogun or Rampage? Regardless of who you feel actually won the Rampage fight, Forrest lasted longer than anyone said he would and took some big shots, not to mention a near slam that he was smart enough to let go of (Arona can't say that). I can definitely see Forrest pulling the upset.

Forrest can definitely win, this is MMA after all. I just don't think he is a that talented a guy. He's tough a dude with decent boxing, decent BJJ, and great cardio, but the skills just aren't really there. Having Randy in his corner is an advantage but Silva is a smart fighter.

He's a good fighter who can pull off the upset but against the elite fighters he's going to lose the majority of the time.

I definitely agree that Forrest is good at pretty much everything but certainly not great at anything. However, I would argue that the last 3 fighters he fought were "elite" or damn close (like him or hate him, Rashad has skills, and is the current champ), and he's 2-1 in those fights.

As I said, I'm picking Silva, and I'm certainly not saying Forrest is the P4P great. But I do think he is definitely top 5 LHW and doesn't get enough credit.
