Barnett has tested positive for a banned substance! Fedor / Barnett is off.

Rumoured replacements so far are: Bobby Lashley, Jeff Monson, Fabricio Werdum, Brett Rogers & Vitor Belfort. Monson or Werdum would be okay I guess.

Affliction is almost certainly dead after this incident.

Saw that this morning too. If they weren't done before this, you can be certain they are now. They've got to be FURIOUS with Barnett right now.

Rogers & Werdum are officially off the list.

Fabricio Werdum, Brett Rogers ruled out of "Affliction: Trilogy" bout with Fedor Emelianenko | MMAjunkie.com

The main rumour now is Belfort. This is lose lose for Fedor. He took a lot of flack, even from his hardcore fans, over the Matt Lindland fight, now he wants to do it again?

Affliction would lose the tiny bit of credibility they had with this move as well. Taking one of the world's top fighters and matching him up with someone who is ranked 9th, 2 full weight classes below? Ask BodogFight how well that worked out for them.

Monson is the only logical choice. Sure he's not top 10, but he is a HW, and has some name recognition from his UFC days. He's on a 7 fight win streak and is decent on the ground. Anything else is a joke.

...and NOW Affliction is done. I can't see how they recover. If they do, it's only for this one show. Coffin is being nailed shut.

Man, I didn't think they'd cancel the event. I wonder if ticket sales were slower than anticipated and this was just the excuse they were looking for, especially considering they wouldn't get a lot of last minute purchases without a quality main event. Hell, I'm no conspiracy theorist, but maybe they even orchestrated this failed drug test so they WOULD have an excuse.

I agree 100% SmytheKing, they gotta be done now. They've now cancelled 2 out of the 4 events they organized. This definitely has to be it.

There's a quote on Bloody Elbow saying that Affliction recently offered the UFC all their contracts saying they would fold if the UFC would lift the ban on Affliction. Who knows if it's true though.

At the end of the day though, they did it to themselves with their outlandish contracts and following the EliteXC model of building your organization around 1 fighter.

Apparently Affliction is officially done and will become an official sponsor of the UFC.

I guess Fedor's never gonna come to the UFC...

This is the moment of truth that the UFC has talked about. Fedor and I are here in the States. If they want to come out and fly here, we are ready to conduct negotiations. Of course it still doesn’t imply we are ready to accept any conditions they’ll throw at us. We want to talk to the UFC about having Fedor compete against some of their fighters, but only within the framework of co-promotional efforts with M-1 Global.

Rumor is now that they turned down the UFC offer of a six fight deal for $30 MILLION DOLLARS. Fedor's people are out of their ****ing mind.

I doubt Dana would offer that much. IF he did, then it would probably for $30MM and Fedor's soul.
