Just my $0.02. I'm glad I went, but I wouldn't buy those tickets again.
i went to wec in san diego and sat down low and it was the same thing...

I've seen him fight before and have always liked him, but that was impressive!

Nogueira looked to be back on top of his game as well. From the start, just looking at him, he looked like he was in better shape and much more prepared than he was for his fight against Mir. I look forward to his next bout!
Yea, Couture was holding his own but once Nog put him down he was out of it. Nog's ground game was just much more superb, we didn't see much of the clinch game from Randy. Maybe he was afraid of Nog pulling guard.

Anyways, it came out after the fight that Randy signed a new six fight deal. Seems unlikely that he'll fight six more times but there's some interesting fights out there. A fight against Mir would be pretty good. There's also speculation that he could drop to 205 to fight Lyoto if he continues to dominate.

What do you guys think? Some nice match-ups at LHW for Randy.

Randy shouldn't get an immediate title shot, so that takes Lyoto out of the picture. No Ortiz, no Liddell please. He won't fight Forrest. Rampage & Evans are tied up until the end of the year. I guess a Rampage fight would be okay afterwards, but if he wins, he'll get a shot at the title, so I doubt he'd put that off again to fight Randy. Depending on if and how Shogun loses that might be an option.

If Shogun loses that would be a solid option.

I don't think Randy will fight till maybe March since this was a pretty tough fight and he'll be cutting back down to 205. So I think the loser of Rampage and Rashad is a viable option.

I wonder about a fight with Brandon Vera. I'm not sure if Vera is high enough on the rankings to entice Randy but the talent is there. A fight against Randy might also bring the best out of Vera. Perhaps Vera hasn't done enough to get a shot at Randy but he is a big name. I would really like to see that fight.

Another intriguing option would be Rich Franklin just cause of the name power.

I actually meant to mention Franklin as well. That fight would definitely sell some PPV. I don't think Vera has done enough yet to get Randy, and I don't think that's a fight that Randy would deem "interesting."

I actually think Marquardt has done more to deserve the shot than Hendo. He's had 5 fights since Silva, won 4, finishing all 4 and lost a BS decision to Leites.

Henderson's had 3 fights, 2 decisions (1 split) and 1 KO. I know he "won a round" against Silva, but let's face it, he won it by holding Silva down and inflicting little to no damage.

But I have no problem with the idea of the 2 of them fighting to determine the true #1 contender. Silva is sitting out for a bit anyway, and it avoids 1 of them sitting on the sidelines to wait for the 1st fight before getting their shot. So yeah Dan, STFU and fight who you're told to fight.

Yea, a Couture-Franklin fight would be big just because of the name power. Probably doesn't mean a whole lot as far as the title picture goes but it's a fun matchup.

I was thinking the same about a Vera matchup. He's talented but he doesn't really deserve a fight like that even though I think it would be an exciting one.

I hope they give Vera a big name for his next bout, ideally a striker since I think that would make for an exciting fight. A bout against Forrest might make sense.

I had a hard time taking Kampmann seriously as a #1 contender even if he had beaten Mike Swick. Fighting Daley will make it even harder to swallow (should he win).

Hypothetically speaking, should Kampmann lose, who gets the next crack at GSP? And if he wins, does he still get the shot by beating an un-ranked opponent?
