Karo Parisyan has pulled out of his fight this weekend "with a laundry list of excuses!!!"
Dana White (danawhite) on Twitter
Dana also says that Karo will never again fight in the UFC.
Again Karo??? WTF?Isn't one of his cousins a member of LGK.
So Karo claims it was because Nevada wouldn't re-license him until he paid his previous fine, which he couldn't afford to pay until he fought.
NSAC exec Keith Kizer is claiming Karo had already been re-licensed and a payment plan was agreed on for the fine.
It's gotta be his anxiety attacks again.
Pretty good card last night.
Main event was just a tough one to judge. Other than the third round of course which was a clear win for Forrest. The first two were pretty even. Forrest getting the better of the striking and Tito getting takedowns and imposing his will on the ground.
However what makes it so hard to judge is Ortiz landed a decent amount of strikes standing up and Forrest went for a Kimura in the first and swept Tito. He did the same in the second round. In the second Forrest landed that kick that knocked Tito's mouthpiece out(sweet kick by the way) and Tito landed that gigantic elbow that cut Forrest.
Koscheck is getting some critisicm for taking some time to recover after that big illegal knee by Johnson. While it looked like he blocked it, I thought his forearm went right into his eye. Anyways the bottom line is it was an illegal knee and Koscheck had an impressive performance. Secured that choke nicely and had some power takedowns. This was a big step up in competition for Johnson, he's still pretty raw and I think he'll be a force to be reckon with in the future. As far as Koscheck goes, I think he'll get a title shot at some point in the future. Until then, I think he'll get another match. I think a fight against Dan Hardy makes the most sense but the UFC needs to get GSP in the Octagon.
Lil Nog looked awesome in his Octagon debut. He could be poised for a title run in the LHW division. Any matchup in the stacked division is a mouth watering affair. I'd love to see him against Forrest, Jardine, Rashad, or even Rich Franklin.
I only caught the Kos / Rumble & the Tito / Forrest fights, haven't had a chance to go back and watch the rest yet.
I thought Forrest won round 1 & 3, and Tito won round 2, mainly due to the 2 takedowns and cutting Forrest open. But I could see rounds 1 & 2 being called either way. Glad to see Tito lose though, and of course, he wasn't 100% healthy. Always has an excuse ready.
As for the Kos / Rumble fight, Rumble has since complained about Kos' acting and stalling after the knee because Rumble "didn't hit him in the head". Yeah, but you know what Anthony? You tried to! Yes, Josh got the arm in there, but that strike was 100% illegal had Kos not blocked it. Johnson said he thought he timed it perfectly, but I gotta question that because Kos wasn't getting up, so why was the knee even thrown? Otherwise, Kos looked good. Even though I hate the guy, it was nice to see him use his wrestling for a change.
I agree that Kos / Hardy would make more sense, but Dana probably doesn't want to keep GSP out any longer, especially with 2 other champs on the sidelines.
Tito running his mouth was but unsurprising and annoying. The best part is he kept saying this is the healthiest he's ever been. I believe that he got injured during training, but no one wants to hear that ****.
Yea, the intent was there. Anyways, Johnson needs to work on his ground game before he can join the upper echelon of WWs. Especially with all the stud wrestlers in the division.Originally Posted by OvertimeHero
Koscheck has always been one the most active fighters in the UFC, so I doubt if he'll wait for the outcome of GSP-Hardy. So maybe he rematches Paulo Thiago. A fight against Paul Daley is also interesting.Originally Posted by OvertimeHero
I had hockey last night, so I missed most of TUF. Only fight I saw was Nelson / McSweeney (fell asleep during the commercial after the fight). How were the other fights? I thought Nelson looked much better in that fight. Took a nice shot to the chin and then landed one of his own that rocked James. It was also nice to see Roy putting a lot more "umph" into his shots when he had the crucifix.
I thought Schaub looked good in the fights so far this season (like I said, didn't see his fight against Big Baby), so I think it should be a good fight on Saturday. Roy can take a punch, so if he can get inside and take Schaub down, I think he takes it. If he can't get the takedown, he still has a good chance of winning, but I think Schaub's a bit harder of a hitter. Should be good!
