Very true. After that first punch dropped him, Diego looked scared and tentative the rest of the fight. He had nothing for BJ. Edgar & Maynard probably wouldn't even make it to the championship rounds. If Maynard can make it past Diaz, you gotta think he's getting the next shot.

It wouldn't surprise me to see BJ push for another GSP fight at this point though, but Dana's gotta make him do it right. He should go up and have to fight a couple of contenders first.

I don't know about "scared", Diego kept coming forward. That knockdown was definitely a wake up call but it was far from a Kenny Florian performance wen Ken-Flo was just so passive. It was weird that Diego kept trying for the takedown but that was the (bad) advice his corner was giving him. It seemed like Diego almost went into survivor mode, he just wanted to finish the fight rather than try and win. But I don't know if he was scared, he kept coming forward.

Did you guys get a chance to watch that last Strikeforce card? That might have been one of the best cards of the year and they only showed four fights.

I did watch it. New to strikeforce. Caught the last 2 matches. Both were great. Thought for sure Cung Le would have won. Guess his age caught up to him. He was winded in the 3rd.

Yea Cung Le was in complete control but that's what Scot Smith does. He has awesome power in his hands and he is never really out of a fight, especially against someone who will stand with him.

Cung Le looked great right up until he got KO'd. And you're right mitchrock, it did look like he got tired too. Doing a movie probably didn't help with that. I love watching him fight just because of the unique strikes he throws/lands. Hopefully getting his first loss will make him take it seriously.

Totally agree ASUcruz, that friggin Smith loves to get his ass kicked up until the last minute, then BAM knock out. Best example was his fight against Pete Sell in the UFC! He couldn't pull that against Diaz surprisingly though. Oh well, his little flare for the dramatic is always entertaining.

Cung for sure had some ring rust most obviously with his gas tank. He'll be better next for sure! Can't wait! Age aint nothing any more. Or at least age under 50 I guess.

Thanks for the insight on Cung Le. Strike force is still pretty new to me.

Looking forward to the Rashad Evans fight on the 2nd. Should be a good one. Hoping psychopuck records it so I can watch it there.

Yea, Strikeforce is a growing stable. They'll never pose a major threat to the UFC, but they'll have the potential to put on some really excited cards. Especially if they can convince DREAM to send some of their fighters over. Here's hoping for a Melendez-Aoki bout soon.

An investment arm of Abu Dhabi are going to buy 10% of UFC, which is valued at a billion dollars. UFC are going to be rolling with some serious cash from here on out.
