Is there a new Stikeforce event on the 30th?
Yea, not a bad card.
The Lawler-Manhoef fight has fireworks written all over it. Both guys like to stand and bang. Both of their striking styles are anything but orthodox too. Lawler likes to wing his punches and he hit from all kinds of crazy angles. Manhoef is a maniac as well. If this fight doesn't end in a KO I will be extremely surprised.
Diaz-Zaromskis is the main event. Diaz is an interesting fighter. When he punches he doesn't really go all out, it's almost as if he is just tapping the other dude's face. It's somewhat effective though because the punches come in bunches and it seems to throw some guys off. He has a slick ground game so if the fight hits the ground he should win. Haven't really seen much of Zaromskis, I think he's more of a striker.
Ex pro wrestler Bobby Lashey is fighting Wes Sims. Lashey is a physical specimen but he's pretty raw. It'll be interesting to see how he's been developing.
Mousasi-Jacare is one of my favorite endings to a fight ever. I won't spoil it, but it's great.
I think Mousasi and Fedor have a working relationship (?), they did a "grappling" exhibition. If that's the case, Mousasi isn't coming to UFC anytime soon either.
I'd much rather see Manhoef rip Jake Shield's head off then fight Lawler for the belt, I think Lawler's going to own Manhoef.
Last I saw Manhoef he got knocked out by a guy moving backwards (Keijiro Maeda).
[note: I hate Jake Shields and wanted Mayhem to take him out, and all Shields did was lay and pray.]
Love Nick Diaz, and I think his punches look weak, but aren't. The way he battered Gomi two years ago. I want *HIM* back in the UFC also
I think Mousasi has an M-1 contract and is apart of Red Devil Sport Club but I think if Strikeforce offered him that fight he might take it. It doesn't seem like their relationship is the same as Evans and Jardine or Koscheck and Fitch.

They aren't, Diaz won't one punch KO anybody but the accumlation of punches will wear someone down. He did the same to Frank Shamrock. I'm hoping Diaz makes his way back to the UFC as well. He might be one of the all time most hot and cold fighters. He looks great against Gomi, Shamrock, and Smith. But then he looks mediocre against Mike Aina, Diego, and Joe Riggs. But yea, he is too talented to not be in the UFC.Quote:

On another martial arts note, I'll be fighting in my first taekwondo tourney February 6th at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Old fart division 40-49 yr olds. I'm a green belt, been training 6 months. First time fighting other than the old hockey days.
You misunderstood me. I implied Manhoef would knock Shields' head off and take the title. But you're probably right.
Though Manhoef, much to his credit, was taking Lawler apart.
I just don't like Strikeforce's product overall. But I'd prefer Renallo as pbp guy over Mike Goldberg
Decent card. Diaz looked really good. Lawler was getting schooled before that KO. He could barely walk after the fight and it only lasted lie 4 minutes. Wasn't impressed with Lashley at all. Sims hasn't done anything in years, so that win proved little. Walker actually looked okay. Cyborg looked good and Coenen had no answers for her, but props to her for hanging in there for 3 rounds.
