The Strikeforce acquisition will be handled much like the WEC acquisition. They'll be treated as separate entities and slowly integrated until Strikeforce is no more. The purchase wasn't done so much for their stable of fighters or sponsorship opportunities but rather to eliminate another player from the field.

While Im excited for tonight's TUF, this season has been pretty lackluster. Lesnar is kind of a clown as a coach. I fully expect Dos Santos to crush him at UFC 131

Some decent fights last night. Some not so decent.

Machida / Couture: Couture looked in slow motion IMO the whole fight. I said to my friends mid 1st round that this was going to be one of those fights where 1 shot out of nowhere ends it all. What a frickin kick! Sucks that Randy has to go out like that, but he's had a pretty good career.

Hominick / Aldo: I was surprised how low each guy was carrying their hands and inviting the punches of the other. Aldo was clearly the better fighter, but it wasn't the most exciting fight (still better than the main event though). My God I felt bad for Hominick though. That fetus on his head came out of nowhere and then was the size of a baseball. Good for him to keep fighting though.

GSP / Shields: I am a HUGE GSP fan, but that was a horrible fight. I (unfortunately) am now among those who feel that GSP is fighting too safe. Before the eye injury, he should have been able to murder Shields on the feet and he just didn't seem to have his heart into it. The eye injury was unfortunate but I don't think it would have changed much. GSP seemed to be half-assing it the whole time. Even when he dropped Shields with that head kick in the 4th, he didn't really attempt to follow it up. Glad GSP pulled out the W, but I officially miss the old GSP.

Matyushenko / Brilz: Brilz can complain all he wants, but his arms went limp for a second there, he was out.

Nice spinning backfist KO by Makdessi, and nice subs by Jason MacDonald & Pablo Garza.

Agreed. Good stoppage on the Matyushenko/Brilz fight. He clearly went limp. If you think about it, though, you can't really blame Brilz from complaining. He was completely out for just a second or two. As far as he knows, he was conscious the whole time. He had to have realized the truth when he saw the replay.

Hominick earned himself a lot of fans by hanging in there with Aldo. He never quit and even manage to control most of the fifth round, although I didn't think he caused nearly as much damage as the TV announcing seemed to indicate. Regardless, I'll happily watch Hominick fight again.

I'm still a little stunned that 2 judges gave 2 rounds each to Jake Shields. The fight was far from exciting, but GSP controlled the whole fight (albeit in a very boring way). For all the speed training GSP seemed to be doing, he looked kind of slow to me. The weight drop never seemed to be an issue, but maybe it was this time. As effective as his jab is, GSP's right hand is brutal. Big, looping monstrosity that can easily be countered by someone with cleaner boxing skills. Even though I can't stand the guy.. Nick Diaz, perhaps?

I, like everyone else, assumed it was a punch to GSP's eye that did him in, but it looks like it was a poke:

Still doesn't make up for his performance with his Koscheck-like overhand right all night.

Anthony Pettis-Clay Guida was not was I expected, but Pettis fought a bit scared in my opinion.

and Dana immediately says Jim Miller is now the next in line for a title shot.

Guida has some mad humping skillz in that match.

Tony had a very convincing win for the Ultimate fighter.
