4 man tournament to determine who gets to fight BJ?

I don't think Din is next in line at all. If he bets Florian then he can be right behind Stevenson.

Since Joe is suspended because of his broken nose, I guess they could set up a BJ-Thomas fight, but I don't know if I need to see that again.

Yeah, but his argument doesn't hold water. He holds a win over Serra? Ok, so? Tito holds a win over Wand too. Should he fight Crocop or Fedor? Serra got a shot at the belt and it was a one and done scenario. Real life Serra doesn't get that shot. It was a gimmick. No way does beating two guys that haven't done anything for years get anyone else a shot at the title. Not to mention he's talking about two divisions that are as deep as it gets in the UFC.

Put Din in there against a couple of higher level guys and see him go 3-0 instead of against a couple of mid level guys (one of which was making his debut). To say that certain guys haven't been there for that long is a little lame if you're going to say your record means something against some people who, well, haven't been there that long. Either it matters or it doesn't. The guy hasn't won against anyone of note since 2003 either. Sorry, winning a fight in the Absolute Fighting Championships doesn't get you a shot.

Personally, I didn't like him in the show, and I'm not liking him more now. He's not a bad fighter, but I don't know that he's championship material. I don't think he could beat Stevenson or Penn or Sherk or really any of the top dogs in that division.

I wont add much to the fight analysis. Basically how I viewed it. I will 2nd the sentiment regarding Crane. He looked abysmal on his feet and far from a reasonable contender. As for the lightweights, Thomas may be performing decently but he is far from a lightweight contender. Granted, not many guys I feel could give Sherk and Penn a good fight at 155 right now so maybe he's the best available. I'm still shocked he beat Guida this past January. Someone may have said this but I'll stick an undefeated guy with GSP and say give Fitch a match with him on New Year's Eve if he wins his fight coming up. I do agree with the thought that one victory won't give Crocop the title shot. I actually think if he wants it Vera will get the next title shot if he beats Sylvia with the Vera/Couture winner fighting Nog/Crocop winner around March of next year. Maybe this is just what I want to see.

I just noticed ASU mentined Fitch on the last page. I think he deserves it if he wins but Diego does not if he wins since he just lost to Koscheck.

Since, Serra-Hughes isn't until the December card, GSP won't get his title shot until, February at the earliest.

That pushes the next guy in line for a title shot way back till late spring early summer.

If Fitch beats Diego, he'll probably get a shot at the loser of Serra/Hughes on that February card. If Fitch wins that he'll get his title shot.

Regarding Diego, I think if he wins or loses he'll get his rematch with Koscheck. Dana likes Diego a ton, and Diego had Staph going into that fight. I think that's the fight Dana will make, especially since Koscheck won't fight the other AKA guys.

Hmmm, he didn't really do much on the show to stand out. I don't remember him doing anything really negative. He was a little cocky after the Burnett fight but it was a pretty sweet triangle.

Seemed like an alright guy on the show.

With Randy's broken arm I don't think he'll be able to fight at all the rest of 2007. Which is convenient for the UFC. I don't think one win over Tim Sylvia should give Vera a title shot.

Since the UFC has some time before Randy can fight, they'll be able to sort out the heavyweight picture. The best possible scenario is signing Fedor but let's assume that doesn't happen for whatever reason.

What I think will happen provided Cro-Cop beats Kongo is that Cro-Cop and Big Nog will fight each other on the December Card. As of right now that card is pretty weak with Serra-Hughes headlining. Cro-Cop and Nog would add a ton of star power to that card.

Whoever wins that fight gets a title shot with Randy in early 2008. The loser fights Vera. Meanwhile, I'd love to see Gonzaga fight Arlovski.

Also they can have Sylvia face a Mir or Werdum.

Well, I guess the attention vaccum was pretty much focused on Serra and Mr. International the whole time, but Din just seemed like a guy who thought really highly of himself. . .but he never got the job done. Didn't he lose the first fight and then ended up getting called back again. . .and lost again? I could swear that happened.

...and yeah, after the Burnett fight he really overdid it. Bragging about beating a guy in his debut and then mockingly saying "Happy Birthday" is a little cheap. For fighters to criticize fans that boo, and then pull that sort of stuff, well. . .it ain't too endearing.

I don't know, Din seemed pretty low key to me. He didn't really do much of anything.

Nope he didn't lose his first fight. He beat Burnett then lost to Chris Lytle in the semifinals.

The guy your thinking about is Jesse Forbes on season 3. He was on Ken's team, lost to Noah, when Noah left because he was afraid he was going to lose his girlfriend, Forbes came back and got beaten by Josh Haynes.

    Whoa did not expect this...

    Babalu cut from the UFC

    http://ufcjunkie.com/2007/08/30/rena...-ufc-contract/

I think that is a bit harsh. A fine yea, but cutting the guy? 205 is a stacked division but surely there is a place for Babalu in the UFC. The guy is talented.
