New season of Ultimate Fighter has started. Here are my two thoughts initially:

Ed Herman Pt. II will be annoying.

Gotta love idiots like the other guy.

You'll all know who I'm talking about before the first half is over.

at least for two rounds that's the smartest I've seen Leben in the octagon.

Having not started yet, I can only assume Mac Danzig is Ed Herman part II, which is a shame, because I was pulling for him after seing him get rocked in Pride

Liked the first episode. I think it'll be a really good season. Hughes and Serra really don't like each other and that definitely shows.

Overall I like Serra but he has such an annoying voice. I think he'll annoy me more as the season goes on.

I like that the side that picks the fight alternates between the two sides. I think we'll get better match ups that way.

Also a pretty killer move by Hughes to pick Serra's #1 pick. I like that he went after that guy and didn't choose an "easy" fight, althought it looked pretty easy. Serra's guy didn't mount any kind of offense it seems.

Minotoro signs with some organization I've never heard of. This really sucks, Minotoro one of the better fighters at 205 is going to fight in some joke organization. Who wouldn't have wanted to see Minotoro fight Chuck, or Rampage, or Shogun again.

Fine with me, word is Arona is close to signing with the UFC as well.

I think Sokoudjou is going to sign or has signed with EliteXC. I'm not sure though.

Here are some picks for tonight.

Chuck Liddell Vs. Keith Jardine

Some people are picking Jardine in this fight, saying Chuck is ripe for another loss. I don't see that happening though. I don't think Jardine is patient enough to wait Chuck out and he doesn't really have anything to offer on the ground. I think he'll walk right into Chuck's trap and the Iceman will take him out. TKO in the first round for Chuck.

Mauricio "Shogun" Hua vs. Forrest Griffith

I give a lot of credit to Forrest for asking for this fight. Originally it was supposed to be Machida fighting Shogun but Forrest asked for this fight. Good luck to him. I do think that he'll make a good showing. Forrest has good boxing and he's a big 205 pounder. I think he'll be the stronger man and if he can get Shogun against the cage(ala Randy) and rough him up there I think he could have some success.

But I think Shogun is too good on the ground and he'll eventually find a way to take Forrest down. I"ll say Shogun by submission in the 2nd round.

Diego Sanchez Vs. Jon Fitch

I was really confident in saying that Fitch was going to win this fight until yesterday's weigh ins when Fitch weighed in a pound over and had to cut that pound in an hour. Luckily he made it, it doesn't seem like a Travis Lutter situation or Joe Riggs where both guys killed themselves to make weight, but still it does make me kinda nervous in my pick.

I"m still going to take Fitch though. He's superior in all aspects of MMA except submissions but I think he's smart enough to stay out of Diego's grappling game. I think Fitch will be able to keep Diego standing and his striking will win this fight. I think it'll be exciting though because Diego won't quit this time and Fitch has much better striking that Kos.

Kazuhiro Nakamura Vs. Lyoto Machida

Nakamura makes his debut in the UFC. He's faced a ton of tough fighters during his time in PRIDE. Much better competition that Machida has faced. I think Nakamura's experience is too much for Machida and he takes this one.

Machida is a very patient fighter and he has no problems making a fight boring. I think Nakamura's is too good though and he finds away. I think it'll be a decision win.

Tyson Griffin Vs. Thiago Tavares.

A lot of people are predicting this one to be fight on the night. Haven't seen much of Tavares but Griffin is a very good fighter. I'll pick him, mostly because I've seen him fight more.

I'm really excited about this card. Even though there aren't any title fights I think it's still a great card.

Shogun tapping out to Forrest Griffin. Damn, that should shut all the PRIDE people up......

Yea didn't see that one coming. Never thought that would go to a decision and I don't think many people had Jardine winning.
