While this card wasn't all that great, I don't know that the next event will be bad at all. There are some excellent matchups. While not a bunch of name guys. . .the fights should be top notch. Isn't that what we want to see? Besides, the original fight was going to be Tito vs. Rashad until he dropped out with Bisping likely fighting Hammill again. Things didn't work out as planned. . .so there's this now. Hard to get too upset though considering how good the Dec card is shaping up:

Dean Lister is on there as well and I always like watching that guy fight for some reason.
As far as the TUF guys, so what? Outside of Bisping and Evans, what guys out there are underserving of where they're fighting? Sanchez and Koscheck? Swick? Stevenson? Florian? Griffin? Bonnar? Who cares if they came from that show? Do they not belong in the UFC? The argument that those guys shouldn't be on the cards is as tired as the Fire Crawford threads on the main page. What other UFC fighters would you like to see instead of those guys that you aren't?

David Terrell, Arlovski, Werdun, Karo, and Herring come immediately to mind. Fighting once in 10 months is not acceptable when you put Andy Wang/Eric Shaefer/ Kalib Starnes on the main card.

If you want to bury them on the undercard fine, a whole different issue. How Jason MacDonald vs. Yushin Okami doesn't get shown this past weekend is beyond baffling and that coupled with Bisping's undeserved matchup caused me to overreact. There are certainly plenty of TUF's that deserve to be there.

Check out the payouts
I was surprised to see Franklin's salary so low. He was MW champion for awhile. I'm assuming the UFC took care of him with their secret bonuses and such but man is salary is low.

But keep in mind that he's at the end of a nine fight contract or something. I'm sure he'll be well compensated on his next one. The guy still has a lot of fans and he's not bad. Just because he can't beat Silva, don't mean he ain't worth it. In any case, I'm sure he's being taken care of. His house can't be paid for on 80k a year.

If anyone wants to listen:
UFC Press conference:
Just listening to the UFC one and reading notes on the Couture one. . .my feeling is that things are going to get worked out. Just my gut. Not a promise.

Din Thomas arrested for running an illegal cage fighting matches? I'm hoping that these were just sparring matches, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Sean Sherk's steroid hearing is today. Phil Baroni as well. Something to keep our eyes on.

Sherk's ruling postponed until the 13th
Fertitta and Dana basically owned Randy yesterday in the press conference. I have to side with them. If you don't like a contract don't sign it, and it's unreasonable to expect a huge contract when you're coming off two dominant losses to Chuck Liddell
not saying the UFC shouldn't have renegotiated after Randy had the belt, but they've put their money where their mouth is and proved Randy (or the new wife...or the agent holding out on him) is talking out of his ass

Penn-Stevenson to fight for Interim title in January.

Dana is oddly standing by Sherk in this one. I can't figure out why he won't strip him, unless Sherk really does have some magic info proving that the elevated levels were created naturally or something. Regardless, I don't like the interim title idea. If you're not going to strip Sherk, just make it a #1 contender match.
