Yup, I honestly don't believe either guy has a good shot a the belt. Fisher's wrestling is too weak and there are a lot of good wrestlers at 155.

Thomas has nice skills but he might be a jack of all trades master of none. Although his BJJ is good. I think he can carve out a career as a gatekeeper. Din is a good test for everybody because of his well rounded skills.

Yup, Guida-Huerta has the potential to be fight of the year. I can't wait, my sportsbook has Guida as a slight favorite(-120), probably due to his track record(fought better competition). It should be a great fight, one that I wish was a 5 round fight.

Randy has apparently turned down the offer to fight Big Nog.

It's kinda BS how he says he wants to slow down a bit, but if the UFC had been able to sign Fedor, he would've (apparently) had no problem fighting him? Really seems like he's ducking Big Nog.

I just can't wrap my head around the whole thing. If Randy really just wanted to slow down, they why "resign" in such a dramatic fashion? Why bring up the money? Anyone have any thoughts?

So I guess this means Big Nog vs. Tim Sylvia for the belt. God I really hope Nog can take this. I don't think I can stand watching more boring fights from Tim where he simply fights to keep the belt, not really looking for the win.

You're not wrong. But I didn't really mean to imply that either would actually get as far as a title shot, but obviously every fighter goes out there with the intention of winning their fight, climbing up the ladder and working their way towards a title shot. And who knows, anything is possible, right. But of the 2, I think Din has the better chance of putting together a good enough win streak to get a shot.

Yea, I think we'll all be rooting for Nog in that fight. If he wins it'll set up a few different intriguing fights. None of these guys deserve titles shots but if they win some fights I'd love to see Nog fight guy's like Arlovksi and CropCop(again)

I also don't like what Randy's doing. He says Fedor is the only fight out there for him, that's total disrespect to Nog. One could make the argument that after Fedor, Nog is the second best HW of all time.

I'd say so too, I think Fisher was really exposed against Edgar. Din really doesn't have a weakness that stands out.

Sherk's suspension reduced to 6th months. So he's basically eligible in January. Since Penn and Stevenson are fighting in January it will be awhile till Sherk gets back in the cage. Maybe April at the earliest? Or March if the winner of Penn-Stevenson isn't messed up too badly.

It'll be interesting to see what Dana does about this. Since the commission upheld their guilty verdict, does he strip him of the belt? He's said yes before, and he's said no before. I think he's got to, just to send the right message to everyone (fighters, fans, sports writers, congress).

On a completely unrelated note:

You know, I've never really cared all that much about the drama aspect of the Ultimate Fighter. I've mainly tuned in every week for the fight, and I've always found the differences in training styles from coach to coach very interesting. However, I gotta admit I'm tuning in tonight to find out who walks out and why.

It's not going to be Tommy, because he's shown in the last 2 fights that he has no quit in him. Given the way the show is edited, I would assume Mac (because he's been so negative about the experience). But he's taken his career pretty seriously up until now, so that doesn't make sense. So that leaves Matt & George. Arroyo was apparently training with Serra when Serra got injured, and it seems strange that Serra would have Matt around if he walked out on the show. So I guess that leaves George. I can't figure out why, but I guess we'll find out tonight.

Well, the trailer for the episode only mentioned that someone quit, but after reading some things today I do believe you're right ASU.
