That main event sucked ass. The other fights were pretty good, but what a crappy performance by both Swick and Burkman.

    what a snorefest

I get the brand building of it all, but I haven't seen a more boring main event since the Salaverry-Marquardt buildup and disappointment

I played hockey last night at 9:30, so I missed the UFN. And I forgot to record it. I guess it's not worth the time downloading?

Not really. The only thing I took away from it was a fine performance from Nate Diaz. Cote had a good outing as well.

This site is pretty good about posting videos.

    Default UFC bans Affliction?

Only somewhat MMA related, but I thought it was intereting enough to post:

From what we’re being told, the UFC is no longer allowing the clothing line Affliction to sponsor its fighters. For the past year, Affliction has been a big part of the UFC as they have sponsored many of the fighters who have fought in the UFC including current interim UFC Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell and current Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. It seems as though Affliction wore out its welcome with the UFC as soon as the UFC got wind that Affliction was planning to get into the MMA game themselves.

The word is that the UFC was not happy about Affliction starting their own fighting organization. We currently aren’t sure if Affliction is partnering up with anybody or if they are going about it by themselves, but that was what we were able to confirm with our sources. Affliction has been one of the most notable names around the UFC, if you don’t believe me go to a UFC event because you’ll see every other person wearing an Affliction shirt.

The last fighter to actually wear Affliction during an event was Georges St. Pierre at UFC 79 where he sported Affliction on his tights and gi. If you review UFC 80 and Wednesday’s Ultimate Fight Night: Swick vs. Burkman, you’ll notice that Affliction was noticeably absent from any fighter’s apparel.

This rumor has been flying around over the past few days, but still hasn’t been brought up because everyone was uncertain about the validity of the report. We could’ve reported this yesterday, but we wanted to give both the UFC and Affliction a chance to comment on the situation, when we attempted to e-mail both parties, we received no response.

We’re working around the clock to get more information behind this report, and we’ll definitely let you know first when we get it. Remember that 5thRound.com was the first to break this story.
Wonder how this will affect Rampage and GSP? I assume they signed sponsorship contracts.

I also think the UFC is taking this a little too seriously. It's not like they were going to hold their first event tomorrow, and any Affliction sponsored fighter worthwhile is under contract so I don't see the need for such a drastic step.

However, if this is true, what the **** is Affliction thinking? There's enough small, sh**ty orgs out there not making any money, there's no need for another one.

Didn't even realize the UFC signed Brock Lesnar. Apparenlty will be fighting Frank Mir at the next PPV.

Yeah, I read that earlier today. Kinda a weird fight for the UFC to make. If Shogun loses, that's 2 in a row, hard to bounce back from that when you're new to the org. If Chuck loses, then he lost to the guy that lost to a TUF winner. I'm not sure that Chuck's career at this point can take that, considering he already lost to another TUF'er in Jardine. ON the other hand, a win over a solid fighter like Shogun puts Chuck right back into the title picture (I'd say 1 more win would be required) and if Shogun's case, a win over a big name like Chuck will do a lot to legitimize him in the eyes of the casual UFC fan (of which there are MANY).
