Sounds like it'll be Rashad.
Huge opportunity for Evans, I don't like his chances though, Chuck is made to beat up wrestlers.

But, I thought M-1 was going to overtake the UFC as the #1 MMA org? Did all those posters on Sherdog lie to me? lol
I'm not all that surprised. DREAM and World Victory Road were both announced after M-1, yet they've both managed to organize events already (WVR had theirs last week, DREAM later this month). And yet M-1 has only signed 1 fighter and co-promoted 1 event. They can't get their s*** together, so Fedor is going elsewhere.

Great info, thanks for sharing those payouts.
I hope we get some better fights that last Ken Shamrock fight put people to sleep.

Certainly an interesting twist to the Fedor story
Emelianenko Never Under Contract to M-1

Been pretty quiet in this thread lately. I guess there's just not been much going on. So here's the quick update
Fedor Offered EliteXC Deal?
Apparently worth a good chunk of change, but who the hell would he fight? In theory, EliteXC could partner up with HDNet to put on the Randy fight, now that Couture has signed a contract with Cuban that kicks in when the UFC one expires. But seeing how much Cuban is going to be putting up for Randy's legal fees, one might think that he's going to want to keep as much of the revenue as possible, so I'm not sure a cross promotion would work in this case. Not to mention CBS may not want EliteXC affiliated with another network.
EliteXC, CSAC at Odds Over Diaz Removal
Diaz has a prescription for medicinal marijuana. CSAC no likey that.
Tim Sylvia to make huge announcement this Friday
Contract extension worth big $$? Mir rematch? He's the next TUF coach? Other than that, I guess he could anounce that he will definitely be leaving after his next fight (he's got 1 fight left on the contract).
Cox Expounds on Fedor, M-1 Global
SIX FIGURES SPENT AND NO CONTRACT?!?! Wow. Maybe Dana wasn't wrong about the crazy Russians.

Thanks for the links OH. Things in MMA have slowed down a tad since the last UFC, although DREAM did put on a card a few week ago that featured the first round of their lightweight tournament and Cro Cop making his return to Japan.
Things pick up a bit this weekend with the Strikeforce card. Too bad Diaz is out, he's always worth watching and the Jake Shields-Drew Fickett was postponed as well. The main event is a good one though, Frank Shamrock-Cung Le. Should be an exciting fight, in reality both guys haven't really faced a legitimate opponent in awhile(although Phil Baroni is a decent). Also Gilbert Melendez is on the card and he's usually worth watching as well. The card is on Showtime.
Also on Wednesday there is a great Ultimate Fight Night card as well as the the debut of the next TUF season.
I'm really anxious to find out what this is. Dana White would have to be deaf to realize that Tim Sylvia is not a fan favorite. I think it is unlikely he would re-sign Sylvia to a lucrative deal. That being said, Sylvia seems to enjoy being in the UFC and there is a place for him in the organization, it wouldn't surprise me to see him take less money to stay in the UFC.

I haven't yet had a chance to check out the DREAM card yet, aside from CroCop's fight. CroCop still looked a little tentative, but at least he got the win. There was some controversy with the main event, but like I said, I haven't watched the clips yet.
Yeah, the Strikefore card definitely took a hit this week with no Shields and no Diaz, but watching Frank is usually entertaining.
The UFN card looks great, and I can't wait to watch all 3 hours of it! And with 16 fights guaranteed for the first 2 episodes of TUF, and Rampage and Forrest coaching, I'm very much looking forward to that as well.
We'll have to wait and see what the official deal is with Sylvia. At this point, I'm kinda indifferent about it. As boring as Tim can be, he is still a legit top 10 HW, so I don't see how Dana can afford to let him walk.

So shamrock vs Cung le...
I really surprised Cung Le moved to MMA from San soo fights....Shamrock has the advantage in expierence but I like Cung Le's technical aspects but he MMA fight is vastly different then a San soo fight...So it will be interesting...
