WWE Survivor Series PPV Predictions
Vince McMahon, always complaining about poor PPV buyrates but doesn't seem to understand what the problem is. Survivor Series was almost scrapped this year because he thinks the concept for this particular PPV is dead.
Wake up! Book your PPV Matches earlier and advertise them! Don't wait until the FINAL WEEK
of RAW and Smackdown to fill up your card. You have 4 weeks to hype the PPV but you only use 1 week to do so. So frustrating. What really annoys me is that there is only one, that's right one
Traditional SS match.
I'll admit, I originally said the buildup was weak because all they advertised was Barrett vs Orton and Edge vs Kane. Now on paper, all these matches look like they have potential. Unfortunately, they were all announced at the last minute so I won't be surprised at all if it was one of the worst SS PPV (buyrate wise). Anyway, enough of my rant. Time to get to the predictions. John Morrison vs Sheamus
This started as a Santino/Sheamus feud but it led to John Morrison vs Sheamus because Morrison kept helping Santino out. Isn't it weird how Sheamus has to put Morrison over despite being in the WWE for only 2 years? How long has Morrison been in the WWE? Gotta be over 5 years.
The obvious choice is Morrison to win the match even though he's gotten the upper hand on Sheamus for 2-3 weeks now. My Prediction: John Morrison Handicap Divas Championship Match: Lay-Cool (Co-Divas Champion) vs. Natalya
I don't quite understand this match. Natalya gets a 3rd shot at the Divas Title when Alicia Fox never got a rematch clause from losing to Melina at Summerslam. Also, Melina has done nothing recently either. What gives? If Natalya can't beat Michelle OR Layla one on one, what makes anyone think she can win in a handicap match? I don't see Lay-Cool dropping the title until Beth Phoenix returns. My Prediction: Lay-Cool WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater (WWE Tag Team Champions) vs Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov
This match is going to be bad... and it sucks because I like Nexus. Let's face it... Santino & Kozlov = Comedy only. Gabriel and Slater has held the title for about a month... don't see them losing this one. Santino will get pinned here with the 450 splash from Justin Gabriel. My Prediction: Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater retain the Tag Titles. WWE United States Championship Match: Daniel Bryan (United States Champion) vs Ted DiBiase w/Maryse
This match wasn't announced until yesterday. That's right.. it wasn't announced on RAW or Smackdown. Awesome. Daniel Bryan has been a great US Champion. As sad as it sounds, he's the key to bringing back interest in the mid-card right now.
Ted DiBiase dumped the Million Dollar Belt suddenly. His feud with Goldust ended abruptly... poor Goldust. Now Ted wants the US Title. I think Daniel Bryan will retain here and they'll continue their feud at Hell in a Cell. My Prediction: Daniel Bryan WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Champion) w/Vickie Guerrero vs Kaval
Kaval has won only one match since winning NXT Season 2... and that was with a rollup on Dolph Ziggler this past Friday night. Kaval immediately cashed in his "contract", which is a title match at a PPV of his choosing for winning NXT. Obviously Kaval does not have the potential to be a main-eventer like Wade Barrett right now, so going for the IC Title is the right choice.
I really do like Kaval. Like Daniel Bryan, I think he's the key to helping the mid-card out on Smackdown. If this match gets about 15 minutes, it'll easily be the match of the night. But like I mentioned on my Smackdown review, I think they'll get 7-8... which sucks.
I'll have to go with the upset win from Kaval here. It makes more sense to have Dolph Ziggler start a feud with Kaval after he loses the title. If he beats Kaval, where does Kaval go from here? My Prediction: Kaval Traditional Survivor Series Match: Team Mysterio - Rey Mysterio, Big Show, Kofi Kingston, MVP, & Chris Masters vs Team Del Rio - Alberto Del Rio, Dashing Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, Jack Swagger, & Tyler Reks
WWE.com had a blunder on their website. Apparently they were going to do Rey Mysterio vs Alberto Del Rio in a 2 out of 3 falls match... but since Rey is injured, they made this a Traditional SS Match.
I hope they don't go the Bragging Rights route and have Big Show lose by countout again. It would be great to see someone on Team Del Rio put him away via pinfall. They're pushing Alberto Del Rio hard right now which is why I don't see his team losing.
In fact, I think the sole survivor will be Alberto Del Rio when he makes MVP tap out to the armbar submission. My Prediction: Team Del Rio World Heavyweight Championship Match: Kane (World Heavyweight Champion) vs Edge
This match is going to be ugly. Bad ugly. The only thing that made this match somewhat interesting is that Edge kidnapped Paul Bearer. You would think that this is going to piss Kane off greatly but Kane is actually "breaking down". He was crying on Smackdown believe it or not...
Nevertheless, I don't see Kane losing his title at all. My Prediction: Kane No DQ and No Countout WWE Championship Match (Free or Fired): Randy Orton (WWE Champion) vs Wade Barrett with John Cena as the Special Guest Referee
This was the only match they advertised for Survivor Series. It's the John Cena show and he's not actually wrestling in this match. There are so many outcomes that can happen... and I really
want John Cena to turn heel.
The concept of this match is this:
If Wade Barrett wins the WWE Title, Cena is freed from Nexus.
If Randy Orton retains the WWE Title, Cena is "fired". Keep in mind, that doesn't mean he can jump to Smackdown.
Obviously, Cena won't really be fired... and no, TNA isn't an option for Cena...
Orton told Cena that if he gives Barrett the WWE Title, he'll be disrespecting all those who won it such as Batista, HHH, Undertaker, and himself. On Piper's Pit during Old School RAW, Rowdy Piper even said that Cena would be disrespecting people like him who never won the WWE Title before.
R-Truth has gotten in Cena's face a few weeks ago backstage and he told him to just quit. Cena obviously didn't listen to him.
Also, Cena has said to Barrett's face that it doesn't matter if he's freed or fired, he's going to destroy Wade Barrett after the match because he hates him. (More on that later)
The RAW GM said this is a NO DQ and no Countout match. Nexus cannot interfere in this match either. I've thought about this match the most and I'm excited to see how it'll unfold. I've thought of a few scenarios that could happen and here it is...
#1 - Cena gives Orton the Attitude Adjustment, Wade Barrett is the WWE Champion and Cena raises his hands. Cena reveals that he played everyone like a fool and that he's been in Nexus all along. I want this to happen, but the more I think about it... the more this doesn't make sense since he has no reason to turn heel based on how much "support" he's gotten from the WWE Universe and the hatred he has for Nexus.
#2 - Wade Barrett does indeed defeat Orton cleanly with The Wasteland and Cena counts to 3. Wade Barrett celebrates winning the WWE Championship and Cena lays him out because he's freed from Nexus. The Miz cashes in his contract and Cena is still the "ref". The Miz becomes the new WWE Champion. This might work but then I'm not sure who The Miz will feud with as the Champ. Maybe Orton? Then Cena can feud with Wade Barrett yet again.
Now, the scenario that makes the most sense...
#3 - Cena accidentally screws Orton over. Wade will probably do something to provoke Cena but then Cena will hit Orton by mistake. Wade Barrett will win the match and Cena attacks Wade Barrett anyway. The Miz can then cash in his contract. If he does, he can feud with Wade Barrett or something.
But for Cena, Orton will be extremely pissed and probably accuse him of doing it on purpose. Orton could get guys to turn on Cena backstage, and this is where R-Truth can step in. He tried to be the voice of reason before anyway right? So R-Truth, Orton, and whoever else backstage can all attack Cena viciously like what Nexus did to him. Cena then will have no one to turn to but... Nexus.
This is the heel turn Cena can probably make because Orton turned the locker room AND the fans against him. It makes the most sense because I can't see Cena turning on his fans out of the blue. But if the fans turn on HIM, then this might work. My Prediction: Wade Barrett.
As you can see, no scenarios for if Orton retains. There's no way Orton retains. I don't see where the WWE can go with Cena being "fired".
So yeah, I'm really excited to see the outcome of the WWE Championship match. Vince McMahon probably feels like this is the only reason people will order the PPV which is why he didn't bother advertising the rest of the damn card.
