Friday Night Smackdown Review - 12/10/10

Pretty decent show for Smackdown. Hornswoggle vs Eagle was stupid as **** but the commentary more than made up for it. Edge/Kane/Paul Bearer has gotten as stupid as the Cena/Nexus angle... but other than that, everything was solid.

Kane and Edge segment

Kane started off Smackdown (seems like he's been doing it weekly now) and once again begged Edge for his father back. Edge refuses still and Kane ended up chasing the Paul Bearer dummy again.

Jack Swagger vs Kaval

This match had potential to be really good and it started off fun but Kaval got hurt (for real) in this match. I think the way he landed when Jack threw him, he tweaked his ankle or knee but tried to work through the match anyway.

Swagger looked really dominant in this match and Kaval did try to fight back even though he was hurt. Swagger eventually won with the Ankle Lock.

Final Result: Jack Swagger by submission.

After the match, Swagger got on the mic and said he should be the #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Title, not Kofi Kingston. He showed a clip where Kofi Kingston hit the Trouble in Paradise finisher while Swagger was between the ropes. Apparently that is "illegal" and he is protesting the match because Kofi will get a title match against Dolph later in the show.

Hornswoggle w/Rosa Mendes vs The Soaring Eage

You're reading this correctly... this match was full of fail. Poor Chavo Guerrero in that Eagle suit. He can't stop feuding with Hornswoggle can he?

The only thing that made this match bearable is the commentary when Striker said something like, "Are we seriously calling this match?"

What really made me laugh though is when the Eagle mascot hit MVP's "Ballin" move on Hornswoggle. That really came out of nowhere.

When Hornwoggle went for the Tadpole Splash finisher, Michael Cole kept shouting. "Get up Eagle! Get up!! You're already extinct!!"

But overall, this match has no business being in the WWE.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Champion) w/Vickie Guerrero vs Kofi Kingston

Great match and it was given a lot of time on Smackdown. As you would expect from these two guys, they gave it their all and it went back and forth for a long time.

The end came when Kofi Kingston hit the Trouble in Paradise and went for the cover but Jack Swagger came out of nowhere and pulled Kofi out of the ring and applied the Ankle Lock.

Swagger refused to let go of the submission hold for well over 2 minutes. Good stuff.

Final Result: Kofi Kingston by DQ. Dolph Ziggler is still the IC Champ.

Masterlock Challenge: Dashing Cody Rhodes vs Chris Masters

They seriously brought this back? The Masterlock SUCKS. This segment felt like a time filler. Basically, Dashing Cody Rhodes refused to get locked in the hold until Masters basically attacked him and put in the submission hold. The ref called for the bell and Chris Masters was announced as the winner... Weird...

Final Result: Chris Masters even though it wasn't a match.

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov (WWE Tag Team Champions) vs Chavo Guerrero & Drew McIntyre

I'll need to find a Youtube clip for you guys to watch. Santino and Kozlov had an extremely funny backstage promo. I think having Santino and Kozlov as Tag Champs isn't so bad. They add humor and interest to the title so it works for me.

Drew McIntyre was Chavo's "hand picked partner" for no reason. (They fought each other at the Ontario house show!) Drew was pretty much going to win the match on his own and was about to hit the Future Shock DDT on Santino but Chavo tagged himself in.

Drew went "okay..." and Chavo went for the Frog Splash. He missed and Santino gave him the Cobra finisher and won.

After the match, Drew McIntyre was pissed and gave Chavo the Future Shock DDT.

Final Result: Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov by pinfall.

Natalya (Divas Champion) w/Beth Phoenix vs Layla w/Michelle McCool

Pretty short match. LayCool couldn't do anything here with Beth Phoenix in the way. She attacked Michelle and Natalya put Layla in a Sharpshooter to win quickly.

Final Result: Natalya by submission.

Edge & Rey Mysterio vs Kane (World Heavyweight Champion) & Alberto Del Rio

Kane didn't show up for this match so Teddy Long came out smiling (why?) and said that Alberto Del Rio has to fight in a handicap match.

Handicap Match: Edge & Rey Mysterio vs Alberto Del Rio

This one was pretty short. Kane came out to attack Edge but Edge got the upper hand and ran away. Kane chased after him. Alberto Del Rio then lost to Rey Mysterio via the 619 and splash off the top ropes.

Final Result: Edge & Rey Mysterio by pinfall.

Edge, Kane & Paul Bearer segment

So this scene was disturbing. Quite odd for a PG rated show. Edge, had Paul Bearer (in his wheelchair) set up on tables and ladders near the ledge. There was no way Edge got Paul up there by himself..

Edge tells Paul Bearer, "I hope you're not afraid of heights."

Kane rushes to the scene and instead of going after Edge, he decides to push his father over the ledge because NOW he thinks it's a dummy. Edge said, "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

So Kane pushed the ladders over and Paul went crashing to his death. Edge (keep in mind, still a face) said something along the lines of, "I told you." Who says that when someone dies?!

So that was Smackdown in a nutshell. It was still better than RAW last week so that was good. TLC is shaping up to be pretty decent.

Slammys Award - Monday Night RAW Review - 12/13/10

This RAW was a little above average. It promoted the PPV really well. I do wish that they would stop waiting until the final week to add a bunch of matches to the card. The awards show itself was lame, but then again.. it's the Slammys. Low expectations makes for a bearable RAW to sit through.

Shocker of the Year Award: The Nexus

David Arquette came out to present this award. Does he always sound like Jack Johnson? He was terrible on the mic because his voice kept cracking.

Wade Barrett came out alone to accept this award. Wade talked a little about the Nexus and his decision on Cena tonight. Then the GM (who was very busy last night) said he'll shock Wade with his opponent... The Big Show.

Wade Barrett vs Big Show

Big Show comes out and takes Wade's trophy. He goofs around for a bit and Wade Barrett is pissed as he follows Big Show to the ring for the match.

This wasn't really a match.. Wade Barrett just got himself counted out because he wanted the trophy back.

Final Result: Big Show by countout.

Despicable Me Award: CM Punk

Kelly Kelly, Tyson Kidd, and Jason Andrews (Kidd's bodyguard) came out to present this award. Kelly Kelly used a lot of big words and Tyson made fun of her. Kelly Kelly got him back good by saying "This is the most you've said in your entire WWE Career".

Kidd on the mic was okay. He seems to have better mic skills than John Morrison, that's for sure.

Anyway, CM Punk won this award for saying that Happy Birthday song to Rey Mysterio's daughter on Smackdown back when the SES was around.

What's really interesting here was that Punk vowed revenge on the person who "wronged" him. Who could he be talking about? My best guess would be Daniel Bryan since he was suppose to feud with him before he got hurt.

Kofi Kingston then came out to his music (for a match) but it seem to have annoyed Punk..

Kofi Kingston & Daniel Bryan (United States Champion) w/Nikki & Brie Bella vs Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Champion) w/Vickie Guerrero & Ted DiBiase w/Maryse

Poor Kofi. The only guy without a diva.

This match was odd and the finish made no sense. The story is that Ted DiBiase is still on a downward spiral and is losing match after match. He seems to be on the verge of a breakup with Maryse but they keep making up anyway.

Daniel Bryan managed to knock Ted DiBiase out of the ring and got the hot tag to get Kofi in. I think Ted was suppose to come back in the ring but he didn't... so Dolph Ziggler decided to rush the ring. Kofi hit a bunch of moves including the Trouble in Paradise and got the pinfall victory.

One problem... Dolph Ziggler was clearly not the legal man. Ted even rushed the ring to "make the save" but the ref counted to 3 a little too fast. Kofi Kingston was complaining to the ref until he realized that his music was playing and that he won the match.

Final Result: Daniel Bryan & Kofi Kingston by pinfall.

Guest Star Shining Moment of the Year Award: Pee-wee Herman

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov were out to present this award and they were funny as usual.

Pee-wee Herman wasn't at RAW to accept the trophy so they had a pre-taped award acceptance speech on the jumbotron. He talked waaaaaaay too much and it just dragged.

Dashing Cody Rhodes vs Mark Henry

This match sucked. Dashing Cody Rhodes did his bit again, where he doesn't want Mark to hit him in the face but Mark was rude and did so anyway. Eventually, Cody went after his legs and knocked down Henry. He jumped on the turnbuckle and stomped on his arm or something. Dashing Cody Rhodes defeated Mark Henry pretty easily.

Final Result: Dashing Cody Rhodes by pinfall.

Holy %@*^ Move of the Year Award: John Cena

John Cena? Really? The Attitude Adjustment he did on Batista through the stage looked cool but it was set up to crash like that. I personally thought Orton should have won this one because he RKOed Evan Bourne while he was attempting the Air Bourne finisher.

Wade Barrett came out and took this award because he said since Cena is fired... he's not here to accept it. Which led to...

Wade Barrett, John Cena, and Nexus segment

So Wade Barrett said he made his decision and teased the crowd about announcing it but didn't. He then said he wanted to tell Cena face to face. So he calls John Cena out and out he comes again from the crowd. Yes, Cena is still wearing knee pads despite being fired.

Nexus came out and surrounded the ring (just like before). Wade Barrett then announced that Cena is re-hired on two conditions. (Who didn't see that coming?)

#1 - Wade Barrett wants John Cena at TLC in a Chairs match. Okay...?
#2 - Cena has to face David Otunga tonight.

Really WWE? Those are the two conditions? This angle has got to be the worst in terms of having the most potential.

So Nexus beats down Cena again. Are we back to square one? Cena is re-hired and Nexus just attacks him over and over again? Where do they go from here since they refused to turn Cena heel? Quite dumb if you ask me. What happens to Nexus when Super Cena wins at TLC?

Also, since they banned chair shots to the head, these chair shots are looking lame. It looks so forced to see a wrestler stay bent over just so the chair can hit them on the back.

WWE Universe Fan Reaction of the Year Award: Cayley - "Angry Miz Girl"

This segment was cool. How did WWE track her down? That's pretty awesome. David Arquette was here to present this award again. I must ask, why?

Cayley seemed very shy on the mic but that's fine considering she's a little girl.

The Miz and Alex Riley came out and I was hoping Cayley would give The Miz a hug or something. The Miz said she looked very pretty and asked her to make that mean looking face again. She didn't really do it and The Miz took her award and headed to the ring.

Cayley just walked to the back and that was it. Too bad... I was hoping for more interaction between the two.

I have to ask... why is Alex Riley still holding the RAW MITB Briefcase?

The GM said that The Miz and Randy Orton will face "former world champs" tonight. The Miz will face Rey Mysterio right now.

The Miz (WWE Champion) w/Alex Riley & David Arquette vs Rey Mysterio

This match was alright. Not much to make note of... Alberto Del Rio interfered in this match and The Miz hit him on accident. That didn't piss off Del Rio though because he interfered again right when Rey was trying to hit the 619.

Alex Riley distracted the ref and The Miz rolled up Rey Mysterio to win.

Final Result: The Miz by pinfall.

After the match, Rey chased Alberto backstage and the GM chimed in again. The GM said Randy Orton will be in a handicapped match against Alex Riley and former WCW Champion David Arquette.

“Oh Snap” Meltdown of the Year Award: Edge

Edge and Christian presented this award. It was cool to see them together again. No 5 second flash photography unfortunately. No mention of the fact that Christian turned the fans against Edge either since Edge is a babyface again.

Edge won this award for breaking the RAW GM's computer.

One thing I have to mention that is pretty dumb again. The RAW GM said Edge has to face Jack Swagger in a match tonight. Edge hates the RAW GM so why should he listen to him? Besides, Swagger and Edge are *both* Smackdown superstars. They didn't have to listen to the GM now did they?

Sheamus vs John Morrison

The match never started as both of them kept brawling. A bunch of refs came in to keep them apart and that was it. The RAW GM then said that these two men will face each other in a #1 Contenders Ladder Match for the WWE Championship.

Can you imagine a Miz vs Morrison match for the WWE Title? That would be insanely cool.

Final Result: No Contest

Knucklehead Moment of the Year of the Year Award: Lay-Cool

JTG and William Regal presented this award. William Regal sighting! JTG botched his lines with what little mic time he had. I'm not sure how Lay-Cool won this award considering it's for Mae Young.

Besides, they're happy to accept an award in which they lost to an old lady?

Lay-Cool then headed to the ring for a Divas Battle Royal that will determine who wins the Diva of the Year award.

Diva of the Year of the Year Award: Michelle McCool

Michelle won this battle royal and I'm glad she won. Lay-Cool did make the Divas division "interesting". Beth Phoenix has been injured most of the year. Natalya hasn't done anything until recently. So yeah, that's why I think Michelle deserved to win this award.

After the match, the RAW GM chimed in again and announced that at TLC... Lay-Cool will face Natalya and Beth Phoenix in a Divas Tag Team Tables Match. Finally! Something "hardcore" for the ladies to participate in.

Edge vs Jack Swagger

Poor Swagger. He needs to win but they have been burying him. Edge won this match pretty easily with a Spear.

Final Result: Edge by pinfall.

WWE Moment of the Year of the Year Award: Shawn Michaels

Not sure why The Undertaker didn't win this award since he fought in the Wrestlemania match with Shawn. But I guess since Taker is "dead", only HBK gets it. It was nice to see HBK on the titantron accepting this award. He's at an "unknown" location... AKA Fort Hood for Tribute to the Troops this Saturday on NBC.

Handicap Match: Randy Orton vs David Arquette & Alex Riley w/The Miz (WWE Champion)

Short match. Orton won easily. With Alex Riley out, The Miz attacked Orton and went out to grab a table. David Arquette helped set up the table but then Orton started fighting back and attacked The Miz. David Arquette came to the rescue and The Miz escaped.

The only point of this segment/match was to promote the Tables match. It was nice to see Orton powerbomb David Arquette through the table though.

Final Result: Randy Orton by pinfall.

“And I Quote … ” Line of the Year Award: Michael Cole

No surprise here. The video package itself was fun though.

WWE Superstar of the Year Award: John Cena

This one was a fan vote, so it's no surprise that Cena won this one. He came out to his entrance music and thanked the fans for not giving up on him. He said he took out Nexus (even though they're all still around) except for two guys. Otunga and Barrett. He headed to the ring for the main event...

John Cena vs David Otunga

Nexus stood at the entrance ramp for this match. Before the match started, Wade Barrett told the rest of Nexus to leave. Otunga was "shocked" by this because he had Nexus doing the same thing to him last week.

Only Wade Barrett stuck around the ramp with a chair in his hands.

John Cena destroyed Otunga easily and won with the STF.

Final Result: John Cena by submission.

After the match, Cena grabbed a chair and pretty much killed Otunga while Wade Barrett watched on the ramp refusing to help him.

Again, this makes no sense. Cena should be thankful for Otunga giving Barrett an ultimatum or else he wouldn't even have been re-hired. Yet Cena shows how ungrateful he is by destroying Otunga.

Good card for the TLC PPV. They're really stacked on the gimmick matches hoping people will buy it.

- John Cena vs Wade Barrett in a Chairs Match.

- Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston vs Jack Swagger in a Triple Threat Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship.
- The Miz vs Randy Orton in a Tables Match for the WWE Championship.
- Edge vs Kane in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

2 Tables, 2 Ladder, 2 Chairs, and 1 TLC Match. Insane. =o

I absolutely hate how the Nexus/Cena angle went, I've really want to give up on the E right now but I enjoy gimmick matches and the era of Awesome!!!

The guest star shining moment for me was either the Shatner appearance or Bob Barker, and there is no way that Cena should have got the holy crap award, that was the lamest one. I agree that Orton should have gotten the award.

I'm a bit tired of Lay-Cool and this cross-promotional thing is crap too, just combine the roster again its obvious that the E is not following its own rules.

the DiBiase/Ziggler vs Kofi/Bryan was botched and it was obvious that the match was ended prematurely. I'm not sure how much longer I'll watch I just can't accept living in a Cena universe where everything is bubblegum and gumdrops, so I appreciate the recaps.

Shatner was hilarious with the intro songs. But was he there live though? Or was he one of the guest hosts who were too good to show up live and just did pre-taped segments?

I think Orton even said on Twitter that he was robbed.

I agree. Having separate rosters was a great idea to begin with because the idea of jamming everyone together would reduce TV and wrestling time for all the wrestlers. But when you have Smackdown stars ignore the roster stuff and always show up on 3 hour RAWs or the occasional RAW guys showing up on Smackdown, it gets stupid. Especially if the commentators decide to yell, "What is he/she doing here?!". =\

I read the Smackdown spoilers (as I usually do) and I won't spoil it here. But I want to make note that they changed one of the matches at TLC.

They took away the Rey Mysterio vs Alberto Del Rio Chairs match and added them to the main event. I'm not sure why exactly. If I had to guess, it's probably because there is only so much you can do with a Chairs match. Especially since they banned chair shots to the head. This way, you don't take away from the Cena/Barrett Chairs match and you add more interest to the Edge/Kane match. I hope they explain why on Smackdown though.

So now we'll have a Fatal Four Way TLC Match for the World Heavyweight Title. Kane vs Edge vs Rey Mysterio vs Alberto Del Rio.

Friday Night Smackdown Review - 12/17/10

Pretty decent Smackdown this past Friday night. A nice buildup for the TLC PPV. I said it before and I'll say it again... the TLC PPV looks AMAZING on paper.

Edge segment

The Rated R Superstar came out to start the show and explained his actions for the past 4-5 weeks. He even showed a video of the Edge/Kane/Paul Bearer segments that's been building for weeks now and they made it into a comedy video. Edge even said, "Yeah, that really happened."

Edge just explained that he's stooping down to Kane's level. Fighting "fire with fire" is what he said. Edge said he knew Kane for over 12 years and that Kane does stuff like this for his own enjoyment. He said Kane accused everyone on Smackdown for putting Undertaker in a vegetative state when he ended up being the one who did it. He said Kane used Paul Bearer as a pawn so that he could bury Undertaker alive.

So that's why Edge did what he did. He said Kane is so out of it that he can become to the 10 time World Heavyweight Champion after his signature match at TLC.

Kofi Kingston & Kaval vs Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Champion) w/Vickie Guerrero & Jack Swagger

Good match. Really exciting and fun to see these guys in the ring each and every time. It was back and forth and the finish came when Kaval tagged in Kofi. He had huge momentum going and really knocked Dolph Ziggler around silly and won with the Trouble in Paradise.

Final Result: Kaval & Kofi Kingston by pinfall.

After the match, Jack Swagger helped Dolph Ziggler up and then clocked him. Vickie Guerrero screamed at Jack Swagger and he just walked to the back. Striker pointed out that Swagger isn't here to make friends since he wants the IC Title at TLC.

Backstage segment: Edge, Alberto Del Rio, Rey Mysterio, and Teddy Long

I usually don't talk about these segments but this one was important. Teddy Long told Edge that Kane might not even show up on Sunday to defend the title because of what Edge did to him. Edge said he didn't want to win the World Heavyweight Title by forfeit.

Alberto Del Rio came in the room and said he'll fight Edge for the title then. After he said that, Rey Mysterio said he deserves a shot at the title too. So Teddy Long said that if Kane doesn't show up, then it'll be a Triple Threat TLC Match for the World Title. And if Kane does show up... then it's a Fatal Four Way TLC Match.

Strangely enough, Edge had no objections even though his odds of winning just shot down like crazy.

Dashing Cody Rhodes vs Chris Masters

Really short match here. Chris Masters got like 2 moves in before Dashing Cody Rhodes kicked his ass. A quick Cross Rhodes finisher and the 1-2-3.

Final Result: Dashing Cody Rhodes by pinfall.

The Miz (WWE Champion) w/Alex Riley vs Rey Mysterio

Same match like RAW with the exact same finish. An Alberto Del Rio distraction and The Miz rolled up Mysterio to win.

Final Result: The Miz by pinfall.

After the match, Alberto Del Rio attacked Rey Mysterio and Edge made the save. The Miz then attacked Edge and Teddy Long came out with an announcement. He announced a tag match for the main event. The Miz and Alberto Del Rio vs Edge and Rey Mysterio.

Backstage segment: Kelly Kelly, Kaitlyn, and Drew McIntyre

I also want to mention this segment because it might lead to something in the future. It said "Earlier this week" in the backstage segment.. so we're suppose to assume it's Wednesday or Thursday. Basically, Drew McIntyre asked Kelly Kelly out on a date. Kelly Kelly wasn't too sure because she says she knows Drew is not a nice person.

Drew tried to tell her that what he does in the ring and outside the ring is different. He asked Kelly Kelly to think about it and before Kelly Kelly could answer, Kaitlyn jumped in and said they have "girl stuff" to do.

Lay-Cool, Natalya & Beth Phoenix Segment

Lay-Cool is on the mic they want to cancel the Tag Team Divas Tables match at TLC because they're divas. Michelle and Layla's argument is that Table matches are for men and Beth and Natalya can participate in it because they look like men.

Natalya and Beth Phoenix came out with a present... which is just a table wrapped up. Beth unwrapped the present and it's an ugly drawing of Lay-Cool on it that says "Flawed".

Layla and Michelle kept screaming at the hideous table. Lay-Cool attack Beth and Natalya but Michelle got thrown out of the ring. The two divas were about to throw Layla through a table with a double suplex but Michelle made the save. Lay-Cool ran away to end the segment.

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov (WWE Tag Team Champions) vs Chavo Guerrero & Tyler Reks

Last week Chavo had Drew McIntyre as his partner and this week he picked Tyler Reks. This was your typical comedy match and Santino beat Chavo with the Cobra finisher.

Final Result: Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov by pinfall.

Edge & Rey Mysterio vs The Miz (WWE Champion) w/Alex Riley & Alberto Del Rio

Average tag team match. During the match, it showed Kane killing a bunch of random security backstage. The finish came when Edge speared The Miz and went for the cover and then....

*EXPLOSION*

Out come Kane to no music. It was just his pyro. He went straight after Edge and these two brawled. The whole Smackdown locker room ran to the ring to separate Edge and Kane. It was really cool to see and Edge and Kane attacked all these superstars and went at it with each other some more. Edge managed to spear Kane and it looked like the brawl kept going but Smackdown ended.

Final Result: No Contest.

PPV Predictions.. coming right up!

WWE TLC PPV Predictions

This PPV is stacked. Every match is a gimmick match... which should be interesting. Will it be enough to generate PPV buys? Vince McMahon seems to think so.

The only problem going into this PPV with all these gimmick matches is that the wrestlers can't give it their all. I'm not saying they won't try their hardest, but they'll definitely limit their moves so it doesn't outshine the other matches. So in a ladder match, you'll see probably one unique move and that's it. =\


WWE Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match: Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Champion) w/Vickie Guerrero vs Kofi Kingston vs Jack Swagger

If there was a match I would pick to steal the show, it would be this one. This feud started when Kofi fought Jack in a #1 Contenders match and Kofi Kingston won that match by hitting a Trouble in Paradise finisher on Swagger while he was in the ropes.

Swagger claims that it was illegal but apparently his protest didn't go through. Kofi Kingston then fought Dolph Ziggler in a title match on Smackdown and would have won the Intercontinental Title if it weren't for Jack Swagger interfering and giving Kofi Kingston the Ankle Lock.

It sucks to see Jack Swagger here fighting for the Intercontinental Championship since he was the World Heavyweight Champion 6 months ago! Jack has been used extremely poorly as of late and I'm surprised he's even in this match.

Dolph Ziggler hasn't exactly been on the winning side either. He's been losing to Daniel Bryan every time he shows up on RAW and gets his butt kicked by Kofi Kingston as well. Not really the best way to build the IC Champion but whatever.

Kofi Kingston on the other hand is quite over with the crowd. However, since he's working against 2 heels.. I don't see him winning this. I'm going to go with Swagger to win the IC Title. He's been handled poorly ever since he lost the World Heavyweight Title. Perhaps this win can be a good reboot to his character.

My Prediction: Jack Swagger wins the Intercontinental Championship.


Divas Tag Team Tables Match: Lay-Cool vs. Natalya & Beth Phoenix

I heard that WWE made this match to counter TNA's Women's match which held in a Steel Cage between Mickie James and Tara? Unless I'm wrong.. doesn't matter.

I'm not sure who will win this but I'm certain that Michelle McCool will not go through the table. Undertaker isn't going to allow it.

I think this feud between the tag team divas could go a little longer so perhaps Natalya will go through the table.

My Prediction: Lay-Cool.


Chairs Match: Wade Barrett vs John Cena

*Sigh* I'm sure you all feel the same way I do. This storyline had SO MUCH potential but it derailed so badly. Cena is "re-hired" and I don't see him losing. I kept getting my hopes up with Nexus and yet over and over, I kept getting suckered in to thinking WWE will go a different route.

But let's face it... WWE is too scared to do anything. They refused to turn him heel and they didn't even bother selling the "fired" angle. Super Cena will win but where will he go from here? What's going to happen to Wade Barrett and Nexus after Super Cena wins again? Thanks WWE.

My Prediction: John Cena.


Ladder Match to determine the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship: Sheamus vs John Morrison

This one seems like a no-brainer to be honest. As great as it would be for Sheamus to win this... since he's the King of The Ring and all... there's no way he'll be facing The Miz at a PPV for the WWE Title. Heel vs heel match = no-no for WWE.

John Morrison also needs the win really badly if they're serious about making him a main-eventer. Besides, a feud between Morrison and Miz? That would be quite interesting since they were Tag Team Champions on ECW.

WWE Championship Tables Match: The Miz (WWE Champion) w/Alex Riley vs Randy Orton

No chance in hell Randy Orton wins the WWE Title here and I commend him for losing to The Miz. This is a gimmick match which means The Miz can win with help. Just look at Sheamus last year when he beat John Cena for the WWE Title in the very same Tables match. There was no way Cena would get pinned cleanly in a 1 on 1 match and there is no way people would believe it if The Miz pins Orton in a singles match.

So Tables Match it is...

One thing I do want to take a wild guess on and that is Michael Cole going through a table. I think Orton will look like he's about to win and then Michael Cole interferes and gets powerbombed through a table for his trouble. This will allow the fans to be happy that Cole got killed and then The Miz can still retain the WWE Title.

My Prediction: The Miz retains the WWE Championship.


World Heavyweight Championship Tables, Ladders & Chairs Fatal Four Way Match: Kane (World Heavyweight Champion) vs Edge vs Rey Mysterio vs Alberto Del Rio

This one is quite exciting. I'm certain that this match will have lots of spots and will be fun to watch. This is Edge's match as the TLC match is his specialty.

Edge is the favorite to win despite what he did to Kane for weeks. One can argue that Kane will retain again because he's been on the wrong end of this whole feud. But I don't know... I'd like to see Kane in the Royal Rumble since he holds so much records for that match.

Alberto Del Rio winning the World Heavyweight Title would be insanely awesome. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening just yet. Plus, you already have The Miz as an "undeserving champ" on RAW. I don't think people would like it if Alberto Del Rio held a title on Smackdown.

I can see Rey Mysterio win this yet again since he's the ultimate underdog. Also, if Alberto Del Rio is to win the World title, I think he needs to beat someone like Rey Mysterio to do so.

So I'll go with... Rey Mysterio. I think Edge/Kane will be too focused on each other and it'll prevent Edge from winning this match.

This PPV is stacked. Every match is a gimmick match... which should be interesting. Will it be enough to generate PPV buys? Vince McMahon seems to think so.

The only problem going into this PPV with all these gimmick matches is that the wrestlers can't give it their all. I'm not saying they won't try their hardest, but they'll definitely limit their moves so it doesn't outshine the other matches. So in a ladder match, you'll see probably one unique move and that's it. =\

I like gimmick matches but I think with the WWE going all rated G we won't see anything spectacular, it might be as lame as the HIAC matches with no real risk moves or blood that would scare the kiddies

I agree with you 110% about this angle, I may go out and play out in the rain during this match. I see Nexus interrupting the match going to no contest and Super Cena taking out 20 men without even breaking a sweat :vomit:

The Era of Awesome should continue and I agree that it won't be a clean finish, I do like your thinking of Cole going through a table but it would be sweeter of Lawler had a hand in Cole eating wood.

Please no Mysterio, I'd like to see ADR win it but I think its too soon and you bring up very valid points TC. I'm just tired of Mysterio and all the back and forth interference between him and ADR I can handle a month or so of it but not four :brickwall:

I hope it's a decent PPV, I'm ready to jump ship because I've had enough of Super Cena and the G rated stuff but maybe this PPV will pull me back in a bit longer.
