Bret did get married. I wonder to who? =o

It would be interesting if he was behind the NXT Invasion, but he's not here to play a heel role.. so I doubt that will happen.

However, I won't be shocked that when he comes back.. he'll form an alliance himself. In which he'll recruit Cena, Orton, Santino, Mark Henry, and other good guys.

It would make sense, but I'm pretty sure at this point, the firing of Daniel Bryan is not a work. However, it doesn't mean that they can't make it happen when they re-hire him. :)

I really hope the guy behind all this is Michael Cole though. Just the "heel" role he played on commentary for NXT was interesting. The fact that he happens to disappear everytime Nexus is assaulting everyone is too big of a clue to ignore.

I was originally rooting for Skip Sheffield to win NXT Season 1 because he is Ryan Reeves. =D Great to see him finally on WWE television. He's worked his *** off. Thats not to discredit anyone else, because I'm sure they all worked hard to finally get a chance to be on WWE television.

Ah yes, the Hart Dynasty. I mentioned it above but I forgot to mention them. Good choice for the anti-Nexus army.

I have neither the time nor the energy to write up a bunch of Impact and Smackdown thoughts, but... is it as obvious to everyone else as it is to me that Kane will turn out to be the one responsible for The Undertaker's current condition? It's got to be him or Papa Shango. That would be awesome if it was Papa Shango.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that Kane is responsible for Undertaker's "vegetative state".

They really should have gone a step further and had the NXT Rookies be responsible though. Just imagine that.. Nexus destroying RAW, John Cena, Vince McMahon, and The Undertaker.

But since they want to keep the Smackdown storyline separate, then Kane is the best choice. He's due for a good feud.

As for my Smackdown review.. I may or may not do it. I didn't get home from the Draft until after 10PM, so I missed Smackdown completely. I wanted to watch it yesterday but WWE.com didn't even have the most recent episode uploaded to Hulu... :facepalm:

Mel, you need a DVR.

For us older fans, WWE is releasing a Bobby "The Brain" Heenan set on 12/18. So many skits, one liners and other funny things Heenan did over the years as the top heel manager in WWE and AWA.

Not much to say about Raw last night. It was entertaining enough, but lots of filler at the same time.

And enough with the email thing. It's only been a week and it's already getting old. Michael Cole is getting the "What?!" treatment every time he reads one now. Out with the secret GM already, or at least start dropping some hints...

Anyone else think the Money in the Bank PPV is going to diminish the excitement of the MiB match at Wrestlemania? :think:

RAW Review - 6/28/10

I didn't watch Smackdown still and I probably won't.. so no review for that. Sorry folks!

As for RAW... I agree with Watti. However, I thought it was pretty dull on top of it being mildly entertaining, mostly because a lot of it was filler. The only thing that was semi interesting was the Nexus segment, but I saw it coming a mile away. (Doug Fresh and Cross Traffic can confirm it because of my shoutbox comment during RAW) ;)

Sheamus/Cena/Computer GM segment - Terrible segment to kick off the show. Is Cena going to keep doing PG rated insults from now on? "Human jar of Mayo." Fun!

Looks like the annoying computer e-mail GM is here to stay for awhile longer considering they built a freaking podium for Michael Cole to "read e-mails".

All we got out of this long segment is that Nexus can't touch WWE Superstars or they'll be terminated. WWE Superstars can't touch Nexus or else they'll be suspended.

Oh.. and we're geting a Steel Cage match at MITB PPV with Sheamus defending against Cena. I don't think a Steel Cage will keep Nexus out and if anyone thinks otherwise is foolish. :russian:

The Usos & Tamina vs The Hart Dynasty - Match didn't happen as The Usos & Tamina attacked The Hart Dynasty to "make a statement". Didn't they make a statement already? If you don't have The Usos winning matches, nothing will come out of this.

Remember Umaga? WWE dropped the ball with him big time because they only had him squash jobbers week after week. Then when he finally gets to fight someone on the roster, he'd lose. Looks like The Usos are heading down the same path.

Vladimir Kozlov vs Santino Marella - Filler match with comedy added in. I'm surprised the writers remembered that Santino is still looking for a Tag Team partner.

Kozlov makes short work of Santino. Regal comes in to attack Santino for no reason. Kozlov makes the save. When the camera cut to Regal leaving the ring, Regal had this look on his face where it seems like he was thinking... "Where the hell is WWE going with this storyline?".

I guess we'll be seeing more Kozlov and Santino comedy for weeks to come. Not that I'm complaining... they're funny and all, but I'd like to see them taken more seriously. Especially Kozlov.

Ranjin Singh & The Great Khali backstage segment - Ranjin didn't translate for The Great Khali and left. Okay then! Moving on.

By the way, Ranjin Singh has been training.. So I guess we'll see him in ring action soon.

Guest Host Rob Zombie in-ring segment - Since RAW has a GM again, the Guest Host concept is quite useless. Rob Zombie was left with nothing to do. All he did was plug his thing for 10 seconds and read the names of the participants off the Titantron.

Sheamus (WWE Champion) vs Mark Henry - Seriously? Mark Henry, the World's Strongest Man is useless. Match was boring but thankfully ended quickly.

Nexus attacked Ricky "The Dragon: Steamboat & Other Legends segment - There was a backstage segment before the Sheamus/Mark Henry match that totally made this segment predictable. Nexus was backstage saying they can still make an impact by picking on a backstage worker and Josh Matthews.

So the Legends saying good things about Ricky Steamboat was nice to hear, but it was just to fill up some time. Nexus comes out and they were able to get the Legends one by one and eventually attacked them all. Including a pretty big beatdown on Ricky Steamboat at the end.

Two things that made me scratch my head though..

#1 - Jerry Lawler is technically a RAW Superstar. He's even listed on the RAW Superstar page. :victory: So shouldn't Nexus be terminated? =P

#2 - WWE Superstars can't touch Nexus, but the logical thing to do would be to have them run in the ring and surround the legends so Nexus can't get to them.

My theory of Michael Cole being the GM is still panning out. Cole again, is nowhere to be found during the invasion. :m0rphine:

Also... it's pretty clever of WWE to say Wade Barrett was at WWE Headquarters "working something out" because in reality his work visa expired and he could not work on RAW or some of the previous house shows over the weekend.

Alicia Fox (Divas Champion) & Maryse vs Eve & Gail Kim - Didn't we have this exact same match a few weeks ago? Except this time Gail Kim actually got tagged in!

But guess who got pinned? Gail Kim. :facepalm:

They also keep mentioning that Gail Kim is a 2 Time WWE Women's Champion. She really held the Women's Title once. I guess they're counting her TNA Title reign. :shocked:

Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, John Morrison, & R-Truth vs Edge, Chris Jericho, The Miz, & Ted DiBiase - Standard 8 Man Tag with all the contestants in the MITB match.

I had no interest in this match because there was no reason to be interested in it. We all know the MITB match is exciting. So I'm just waiting for that actual match to take place.

The finish could have been better though. Ted DiBiase comes in and eats the RKO and gets pinned 1-2-3. What a great push for Ted, don't you think? =x

We'll probably get the same main event for Smackdown so they can showcase their contestants.

I think the only appeal the MITB match has left for Wrestlemania is that it combines both RAW and Smackdown superstars.

For this MITB PPV itself, the RAW match can only go for the WWE Title and the Smackdown match can only go for the World Heavyweight Title.

Do you know if they mentioned that they have 1 year to cash it in as well?

The great thing about MITB matches is that it helps the mid-cards work their way up to main event status. Edge won his first major title things to MITB. Also most recently, Jack Swagger (despite being booked extremely poorly as the World Champion).

Tried to watch Raw last night. Like this NXt angle. Had to turn it off. The camera crew just outright sucks. Got dizzy from their coverage. Don't know if Vince is getting cheap on the crew to buy more performers, but this is terrible.

I noticed that too, it was pretty bad. I figured it had to do with the old Superstars not being able to take punches and at the same time the NXT guys not really being that great at selling the punches while playing it safe.

They always give a little bit of a camera shake to sell hits, and generally are pretty good at it, but not to the extent they did during that segment... see_stars:

Gave me reason to switch over to WEC. I just don't have the patience for WWE anymore. The NXT angle seems interesting, but overall, the writing sucks.
