    In before Mel.

The Great Khali on Team Cena...?

Who will be more difficult to watch in the match? Him or Bret?

I wonder if Wade Barrett pulled a muscle with that botched slam on Mark Henry... Impressive that he pulled it off, but why wouldn't Mark let go of the damn rope?

Orton going to win the belt back at Summerslam? Cool.

Miz trying to cash in was fun, but it seemed so Swagger-ish.

I hope Edge and Jericho team up.

Not much else happened... Fast-forwarded through the Santino crap. Good (not great) episode, reveal the damn GM already. Have they abandoned the guest host thing?

    RAW Review - 7/19/10

Pretty decent Post-PPV RAW and I'm happy that they are already building up for Summerslam.

Triple Threat #1 Contender Match for the WWE Championship at Summerslam: Randy Orton vs Edge vs Chris Jericho

Fun match. Orton was the predictable choice since there is no way they'll have Edge (heel) or Jericho (heel) face Sheamus for the WWE Title at Summerslam.

Plus, I like that this match kicked off RAW as well. It doesn't always have to be a talking segment.

Orton looked really strong at the finish of the match when he hit the RKO on both guys.

Final Result: Randy Orton via pinfall after covering Edge.

Nexus attacking Edge and Chris Jericho

Looking back at my MITB Predictions, I was only dreaming. I really wanted Jericho to be the mastermind behind Nexus, but since his contract is expiring in September/October... I guess it makes sense that he isn't the mastermind.

Edge being attacked first was interesting. It did make people think, "Maybe Jericho *is* behind this". Then when they turned on Jericho all that went out the window.

I was wondering what they were going to do with Edge and Jericho for Summerslam and now we know.

    John Cena backstage segment

John Cena being serious? No way! Too bad he won't turn heel though. He teased it with the phrase, "If you can't beat em..." and he left.

It would be a great change to see Cena as a heel though. But since Vince is raking in the cash on merchandise sales, there is no way he'll take a risk by making Cena a villian.

#1 Contenders Match for the Divas Title: Maryse w/Ted DiBiase vs Eve

It's nice to see Ted DiBiase accompany Maryse for a change. This match was quite stupid and didn't make much sense. This was a #1 Contenders match, but the story wasn't on the Divas. It doesn't quite add up...

So Eve pinned Maryse near the ropes. The ref technically shouldn't have counted in the first place since Maryse's feet were under the ropes. But the ref counted anyway, and then Maryse put her foot on the rope. Ref counted to 3 anyway and the point of that was for Ted DiBiase to complain to the ref and then have John Morrison attack him.

Speaking of which, the Starship Pain SUCKS. It never connects with the opponent 100% and it looks extremely ineffective as a finisher. Anyway, Morrison attacking DiBiase means that Melina is returning soon and in Morrison's corner again.

But this makes no sense and I'll tell you why towards the end of the review...

Sheamus vs Evan Bourne w/The Miz watching ringside

I don't like it when they put Evan Bourne against Sheamus. They're trying to push Evan Bourne but its not going to work if you get him squashed by Sheamus every time.

Evan did get more offense in this time around, but the end result is the same. After the match, The Miz teased cashing in his contract by applying the Skull Crushing Finale on Sheamus right on the briefcase.

When The Miz was about to cash in the contract, I think it's stupid that the ref was checking on Sheamus to make sure he is alright before ringing the bell to start the match. If the ref did that for every opponent, then the MITB concept wouldn't work.

After lots of stalling, R-Truth's music hits and he is out to ruin The Miz's opportunity of being the WWE Champion. The Miz is smart and reclaimed his contract since the ref never rang the bell.

I was seriously thinking, "F*** off R-Truth. You suck!" but it made sense for him wanting revenge on The Miz since The Miz took him out of the MITB Match. But then... like the Morrison/DiBiase story, it makes no sense later on... I'll get to that as well.

Final Result: Sheamus beat Evan Bourne by pinfall.

It does, but thats probably the point. Since Kane cashed it in so early, I can see The Miz holding the briefcase and teasing it for a few months. Maybe he'll cash it in at Summerslam. =D

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs William Regal & Zack Ryder

Here's your comedy match of the night again. Always involving Santino. Though as long as The Hart Dynasty are holding the Unified Tag Team Championship, I don't see Santino and Kozlov going for it.

Final Result: Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov won by pinfall.

    Wade Barrett vs Mark Henry

Wade Barrett can wrestle! Props to Mark Henry for putting Wade over. The ropes thing like you mentioned Watti was dangerous! Mark Henry must have not trusted Wade too much because he held on way too long. Wade Barrett almost dropped Mark on his head, but thankfully he had enough strength to throw him down.

Yeah, I hope Wade didn't hurt his back doing so. That would suck!

Final Result: Wade Barrett via pinfall over Mark Henry.

Team Nexus vs Team Cena segment

This was a pretty interesting segment and I am pretty stoked for Summerslam because of it. So Cena wanted a truce. Wade Barrett says no because he wants Cena to be in Nexus. If that happened, we can call it Cenexus.

Cena declined but strangely enough.. Nexus didn't beat him down. They gave him an option to "cowardly walk away"... which Cena did.

But then Cena announced his own team.

    Edge
    John Morrison
    R-Truth
    The Great Khali
    Chris Jericho
    Bret Hart

Okay.. Edge and Chris Jericho makes sense.. since they got beat down earlier tonight.

R-Truth and John Morrison does not make sense. Like I mentioned earlier in the review.. having Morrison and Truth negates their storyline that they were setting up. What is Ted DiBiase going to do now? The Miz can still tease his briefcase thing, but is that all the revenge R-Truth is going to get? If so, that is the weakest attempt ever in getting back at someone.

The Great Khali? Good lord. I really hope he isn't in the Summerslam match. Lets just pray Nexus beat him down to "make a statement" and they'll need to find a replacement.

Bret Hart was a huge surprise. I think I expected him to be done with the WWE. He certainly can't fight but I would totally go crazy (in a happy way) if I got the honor to see him put someone in the Sharpshooter in person at Summerslam!

If someone does get replaced on Cena's team, it would be insane if Daniel Bryan is one of the replacements. Storyline wise, Nexus didn't include him... so if Daniel Bryan comes back to face them, that would be huge.

I also don't think Team Cena is going to win at Summerslam though.. It's too soon to have Nexus lose. If anything, I smell a heel turn as a PPV shocker. Again, it would be great if Cena turned heel but maybe Bret Hart will do it.

Patience my friend. It's all a part of a "master plan". The guest host thing is not completely abandoned. They are trying to phase it out though.. but will continue it as part of a small segment every other week. In other words... celebrities shouldn't waste their time hosting RAW because they're not really "hosting" it anymore. I guess they'll still do it for a cheap plug.

So, section 318 for Raw, eh? Who's all going? Me, Dexter, TooCool, and I presume Watti?

Didn't see the PPV, but the results looked good. I predicted everything correctly except for Kane's victories. I like Kane being champion, but it came out of nowhere. Rey Mysterio's reign was pointless, and they cut Swagger's reign short. Miz as champ will/would be great.

Also, Jay Lethal lost in 4 minutes on Impact. He just tapped Ric Flair, and then lost in 4 minutes. God damn it, TNA.

Lucha Libre USA? Awesome. That is all.

    Raw:

'Twas a nice surprise to see them open with a main event type match. It was a really good bout, too, featuring probably my 3 favorite Raw wrestlers. Orton getting the win was no surprise, but I don't know why he needed to kill both guys with RKOs first.

I don't know what the point was with Eve vs. Maryse (the finish) unless they're looking to add Maryse to the title match, making it a triple threat. But hey, Maryse and Eve are hot!

Is Evan Bourne's push over? Sheamus pretty much kicked his ass. I was worried about Miz being the first man to lose his MITB title match, but the longer things went on, the more it became clear that someone would interfere. I guess R-truth's injury isn't as bad as they thought, which is good.

Why job Zack Ryder? He's not even a part of the feud; Regal is. And Ryder's tag partner is Primo (even though he sucks). Poor Ryder.

Needing a distraction made Wade Barrett look weak. That finish was almost horribly botched, but the match was okay for a Mark Henry match.

I always figured Cena would end up forming a group, and I knew it would happen after his promo earlier in the show. Edge, Morrison, and Jericho, I expected. I had predicted Orton and the Hart Dynasty originally (weeks ago) but they're obviously doing other things. Truth, I thought was injured till the show. Khali... well, he makes sense from a kayfabe standpoint. And Mel, his match at last year's SS was good. This time, he'll barely be in the ring, anyway. I never expected Bret Hart, so I marked out for that.

I had expected Evan Bourne to be on the team, but his big push may be slowing. I'd still bet on him wrestling and losing to The Miz at SummerSlam. I'm also excited that, after the ability to say "I saw Bret Hart's last match in person" was taken away from me when eh won the U.S. title, I can now say that again after SummerSlam, unless he wrestles after that.

    NXT:

I just finished watching this, and it was another good show. The cold open with Matt Striker randomly running an obstacle course was funny, and it was good to hear his music again later on. The ensuing tag match was fun, and Husky Harris got a win over a pro. I just hope he's not eliminated next week.

Even though the results on WWE.com say otherwise, Lucky Cannon lost to Alex Riley. The match was not a squash, but it did last barely over a minute. And you know what? **** Lucky Cannon. He's terribly annoying.

The challenges are always stupid time wasters, but this one was fast paced and not totally boring. I'm guessing it's probably not worked except for stuff like what Husky Harris did, but still, Michael McGillicutty does not need immunity. And it was funny that Kofi called McG's fans the "McGillibuddies", as Michael has been doing on Twitter since the show started.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good shows so far this week. I'm going to see the EWF on Friday (last show I went to, they ahd Oscar from MoM!), and the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla 7th Anniversary Show on my birthday, July 30th, in Reseda. Bryan Danielson and the Machine Guns will be there, amongst others. Then there's more EWF, followed by SummerSlam and 2 Raws at Staples. Lots of live wrestling coming up for me. Awesome.

I only caught the last segment on Raw this week. Barrett is painful on the stick, he doesn't sound threatening or intimating.

Oh yeah. That's what I meant. Too bad no one else from here is going to the PWG show. It's cheap and looks awesome.

Missed Smackdown on Friday because I had a wedding to attend. I tried to watch it on Youtube but it loaded so friggin slow that I gave up on it.

I did catch Kane's opening promo and it was AMAZING! I can't recall the last time Kane delivered a promo like that. It's great to see how great he is on the microphone. I'm glad he's getting pushed right now.

I also fast forwarded to the Best 2 out of 3 falls match between Swagger and Mysterio to determine the #1 Contender for Summerslam. My biggest gripe is that they made Swagger look stupid yet again.

Rey won the 1st fall because Swagger wouldn't let go of the Ankle Lock. That's understandable.

Because during the 2nd fall, Rey immediately tapped out to the Ankle Lock.

Now comes the 3rd fall. Suddenly, Swagger forgot that Rey's ankle was "broken" so he stopped trying to apply the Ankle Lock. He just keeps trying to hit moves that led to him getting countered and eventually lost to a weak rollup pin again.

It's just so frustrating sometimes. Absolutely no logic.

What worries me is that Zack Ryder didn't even wear his unique gear last Monday. You know, the one where he has one pant leg only. It seems like the only reason they're keeping him around is because he's a Pro on NXT Season 2. =\

I really like Zack Ryder and he has a good gimmick. But if WWE won't give it a chance, it won't get anywhere.

That's the only part I saw on Friday, too. Excellent promo.

This is clearly going to end up as Kane vs the Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship. Summerslam is too early though, so maybe like last year Undertaker returns at SS and the feud leads up to the following PPV or maybe even drags out all the way to Survivor Series?
