Well, crap. I guess it doesn't matter in this case since those matches have been announced already.

It's a minor gripe really. Michael Cole could at least pretend he's looking at the screen instead of the note cards that are in the laptop. I still think the GM is him, which is why I laugh when he makes comments like, "The GM made a great decision in booking this match tonight" or something like that.

I completely agree with you. 1 week away and only 4 matches announced... that is not how you book a PPV. It's really annoying when WWE does this because I hate it when they throw in 1-2 extra meaningless non-advertised matches in the PPV.

    --------------------------------------------

How was the ECW (I mean TNA) PPV? I read the results... don't know what to make of it. I read the part where the crowd was chanting "F*** you Vince!" and I can't help but do this...

I hate it when the TNA crowd does that. Get over it. Your product is inferior to WWE and Vince McMahon could careless what you chant. Wrestling is wrestling. They should be chanting for their own stars and own storyline. But to chant things just to attack WWE really bugs me and part of a reason why I don't bother with TNA.

But I hope you enjoyed it since you ordered it! Was it all it was hyped up to be?

It was the oddest PPV ever. The Dreamer/ Raven match was really......bloody.

I'm glad I got to see Hardcore Justice. It was a good show, but maybe not worth the $35. Then again, I don't think most PPVs are worth the price charged. I didn't pay for this one, though.

Mel, I would have invited you if you lived closer.

I didn't expect anything revolutionary, and I was happy with what I got. TNA did the best they could with the talent available, even with the inability to use certain gimmick names and such.

The opener was your standard goofy ECW 6 man tag with a mix of high spots and comedy. I marked out fort he dance-off. Tracey Smothers is awesome. Simon Diamond had gained 100 pounds and looks disturbingly like my friend Eric, and Kid Kash apparently has been visiting Gas Chamber Ink.

The comments from "Pitbull" Gary Wolfe were... bizarre. I don't think we'll be seeing him again, contrary to what he said. And I wish Blue Meanie could have been at the show. Blue Tillie? What were they thinking?

CW Anderson vs. Scorpio was an odd matchup that worked well. Both were in pretty good shape despite getting up there in age, and I liked the finishing sequence. I hope we see Scorpio stick around in TNA.

PJ Polaco is such a terrible sounding name. But, putting aside that and the fake bWo garbage, this was a decent match. Stevie Richards is one of the more underutilized guys in wrestling today, so it was good to see him show his stuff for a change.

Sandman's appearance was brief, as were his comments in video packages. He looked to be in much worse shape than he was during his WWE run. Kind of a disappointment.

The three way dance was an odd matchup, but they had to have at least one of those type of matches, right? I was excited to see my boy Al Snow wrestle. I was also surprised- slightly- to see Rhino in this match. Well, Rhino vs. Spike made sense, but Al Snow seemed shoehorned in. But who am I to complain when I got to see Al Snow?

The chair sequence was odd, since I thought the matches were all under hardcore rules, even if weapons weren't used in all matches. Guess not. Spike (I hate the name Brother Runt) pinned Snow with the Acid Drop and, predictably, got gored immediately after. Decent match, but they could ahve done better.

Team 3D vs. Axl Rotten and Kahoneys (seriously... LOL wow) was what you'd expect: a weapons-laden brawl by 4 big fat guys. Joel Gertner's intro was vintage Gertner, and the match had some decent spots leading up to the powerbomb through the flaming table at the end. I particularly loved the light saber duel. I'm a geek; what can I say? Good stuff.

New Jack's promo after the match and brawl was hilariously random. Mustafa apparently took away SoCal Val like Lysol did Katie in The Mad Real World, and New Jack made JB his bitch?

Dreamer vs. Raven saw both guys bust out their trademark moves- drop toe holds onto chairs, death valley drivers, the sign wrapped in paper, lots of weapons, and of course, lots of DDTs. Dreamer executing the DDT while handcuffed looked pretty cool, and the crippler crossface with barbed wire was just sick, as was the mandible claw with the wire. Looked painful. I had a feeling Tommy was going to lose since he was booking the show.

RVD vs. Sabu was definitely match of the night and was a worthy main event. There were no major botches, like everyone was afraid of. Like Dreamer vs. Raven, this was kind of a "greatest hits" version of their old matches. That's kind of what the whole show is in regards to ECW, I guess: a tribute band sort of thing.

Bald Sabu looked weird, but as I said, there were no big botches and the match was pretty damn good. Sabu is best used as a special attraction, but TNA should try to bring him in and get at least a couple months' worth of work out of him while there's still some interest from the PPV. Put him back in there with Abyss; maybe Jeff Hardy.

This was definitely an above average show that satisfied me. But really, it depends on your expectations as much as anything. If you were expecting ECW reborn, you'll be very disappointed. If you're cynical and want to find stuff to nitpick, you will be able to do so and you will not like the event. But if you take the show for what it is/was, you just might like it. It's worth a watch, and I'll probably pick up the DVD down the line.

Whew... just in time for Raw. Not that I'm watching it live, anyway.

Separated at birth....Wade Barrett and Alfalfa.

The Nexus guys are still painful to listen to on the stick.

Thanks. I try to turn my stream of consciousness rants into something readable. At least I usually keep things in order of when they occurred on the shows.

That being said, I don't feel up to writing about Raw or NXT. Decent shows, both, but I just don't have it in me right now. I did want to say, however, that I am very happy that Lucky Cannon is gone! The 5 remaining guys all deserve chances on Raw or Smackdown.

Any chance the Mystery GM is revealed at Summerslam?

I hope it ends up being the Bushwhackers. I would mark out beyond belief, jump from the 300s down to the floor, and run into the ring and lick their heads.

Bushwhackers as GM? Hehe. There is only one problem... do either Butch or Luke know how to use the computer?

I didn't watch RAW this past Monday. I went over to my Grandma's house for dinner. I did make it home in time to see the main event, which was what I expected. The brawl between Team Cena and Team Nexus to promote Summerslam. One thing I MUST point out is how amazing the fans in Sacramento were. The cameras were literally shaking because of how intense the standoff was. That really got me pumped for Summerslam.

Some of my guesses for the 7th and final member of Team Cena.

The Miz - Remember the Guest Host thing that started a year ago? I can't remember the Guest Host but I remember the Guest Host making some stupid stipulation that had The Miz banned from all WWE Events at Staples Center. I mean sure, that was many months ago and we're all suppose to forget that ever happened.

Anyway, as for The Miz being the 7th guy... it probably isn't happening. He made Cena and Bret Hart ask him to be on the team during RAW. All Bret and Cena said was, "Are you in or out?" The Miz said he'll let them know Sunday. Also, I caught NXT on Tuesday and John Morrison didn't want The Miz on the team. Hell, The Miz beat Morrison (again) so I don't see The Miz joining.

Daniel Bryan - Watti and I were discussing this... and yes, we know he's fired and everything. WWE put that 90 day no-compete clause as well so he can't jump to TNA. He's booked in the Indy scene too isn't he? Also, his 90 day clause doesn't expire until Mid-September. But WWE could certainly bring him back right? I don't think the clause applies to their own company... but I could be wrong.

Storyline wise, it makes sense to bring him back. He can either feud with Nexus or even The Miz because of NXT season 1. He can't lose either way. For him to join Team Cena would make sense as well because Nexus said they "kicked him out" of the group for showing remorse when they destroyed RAW a few months ago.

It would be nice for him to be the mystery guest, but I don't see it happening.

HHH - Yes. He had surgery 4-5 weeks ago so there is no way he could make it back in time. However, the surgery thing (reported over Twitter by the way) could be a ruse. Now I'm not saying he didn't get surgery, I'm saying he could be recovered by now. WWE loves to try to fool the "internet fans" and they've done so in the past. By having Cena and Edge return earlier than expected at the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant.

If HHH is indeed healthy, I can easily see him become the final member and then turning heel to help Nexus win as he is the mastermind behind all this. I know Sheamus took him out and if HHH returns, it's suppose to be a feud waiting for him. However, the Nexus story is much more important and if HHH is going to turn heel (he wants to), this is perfect for him.

The Rock - I'm just throwing this out here for fun. Probably not even a 1% chance it'll happen since he doesn't want to wrestle again. But with Summerslam in Los Angeles... I dunno! I'm throwing this out here because if The Rock is the 7th Mystery Entrant... I might just scream like a little girl.

    --------------------------

Bottom line... I don't see Nexus losing. It would make ZERO sense for that to happen. Someone is going to turn heel to help Nexus win because I don't see Nexus winning cleanly either.

Besides, Wade Barrett has already said that what they're doing is "Bigger than Cena". If Team Cena just wins, that would pretty much put a dent in Nexus. I'm sure WWE is smarter than that and that is why Nexus will be victorious.

    Anyway... can't wait for Summerslam.
