WWE Elimination Chamber PPV Review My Review Score: 9/10
Great PPV. All the matches were top notch. The match of the night easily went to the Smackdown Elimination Chamber Match.
I went 5/5 in my predictions... which isn't too shocking since the Road to Wrestlemania is pretty much set in stone after the Royal Rumble.
Non-Title Match: Kofi Kingston (Intercontinental Champion) vs Alberto Del Rio
Solid match to start the PPV. Both men got in their fair share of offense. I liked how Booker T called out Kofi Kingston for not being aggressive enough. Especially when Kofi knocked Del Rio out of the ring. Kofi took his sweet time walking around the ring before going out to attack him.
Alberto Del Rio worked on Kofi's arm throughout the match. This is why I really like Alberto Del Rio. Not only is he great on the mic, his wrestling skill is great. He works on certain body parts to make his finisher more effective.
The finish came when Alberto Del Rio locked in the Rolling Cross Armbreaker Submission. Kofi actually blocked the submission for awhile and he's the first superstar in the WWE so far to do it against Alberto Del Rio. Alberto kept attacking Kofi's hand and eventually got the submission move in, and Kofi tapped again.
Final Result: Alberto Del Rio by submission.
I'm really glad that Alberto Del Rio got a clean victory. It seems like heels these days never get to win cleanly.
Smackdown Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Kane vs Edge (World Heavyweight Champion) vs Drew McIntyre vs Rey Mysterio vs Wade Barrett vs Big Show
Great match. It was so brutal it was outstanding. Big Show as the mystery entrant was lame... but what can you do?
One reason why I loved this match so much was because
EVERYONE had a part in it. The match started with Edge and Rey Mysterio. Both of these guys set the tone of the match. Wade Barrett came out 3rd and did a number on Edge and Mysterio.
When Kane came out at #4, he showed his power by destroying everyone. Kane actually looked pretty damn good here which is good for someone who wasn't going to win. I loved it when Drew McIntyre came out at #5. He went berserk, which is true to his overly aggressive character. He pretty much murdered Rey Mysterio by throwing him through the glass pod.
Big Show came out last and got to show off his strength as well. The only thing I didn't really like was that they made Wade look like a coward. It's Big Show feuding with Big Zeke, not Wade Barrett. But the commentary went all the way back to Wade's Smackdown debut when he attacked Big Show. Basically, Wade tried to run, but there was no place to run in the Chamber. He pretty much got owned and was the 1st eliminated.
Then everyone attacked Big Show with their finishers. The Future Shock DDT, the 619, Spear, and Chokeslam and Big Show was out. Kane then continued his terror by eliminating Drew McIntyre after giving him the chokeslam.
In a cool spot, Kane looked like he was trying to do a reverse tombstone on Rey Mysterio. Edge speared BOTH men but only covered Kane to eliminate him. In my opinion, it would have been more awesome if Edge covered both guys at the same time. (They were practically right next to each other!)
Edge and Rey then fought some more and Rey Mysterio put on Super Cena mode by kicking out of everything Edge gave, including a spear. Rey was finally beaten when he jumped off the top rope only for Edge to spear him again.
Final Result: Edge retains the World Heavyweight Championship.
Overall, everyone looked pretty damn strong in this match except for Wade Barrett. Rey Mysterio looked overly powerful, which wasn't really necessary... but good nonetheless.
After the match, as Edge celebrated his victory, Alberto Del Rio ran in and attacked him. Del Rio even gave Edge the Armbar submission and then Christian ran out to make the save! Christian gave Alberto Del Rio the Killswitch and went to the back.
As they were showing replays of Christian attacking Alberto Del Rio, Edge gave him a Spear as well. Edge celebrated again while Christian's music continued to play.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Vladimir Kozlov & Santino Marella (WWE Tag Team Champions) vs Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater
Standard Tag Match with a good pace. We've seen Slater and Gabriel fight Santino and Kozlov for a long time now. When they were in Nexus and now in The Corre.
The finish came when Kozlov was beating up Justin Gabriel. Heath Slater got in a blind tag and got the upper hand on Kozlov. Gabriel tagged back in and gave Kozlov the sternum crushing 450 splash to win the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Final Result: The Corre wins the WWE Tag Team Championship by pinfall.
Another clean victory for the heels. I'm shocked!
WWE Championship Match: The Miz (WWE Champion) w/Alex Riley vs Jerry Lawler
Jerry Lawler worked a damn good match for a guy his age. The Miz did his best in selling the moves. The match was kind of slow but that was to be expected. Alex Riley tripped up Jerry along the ropes when the ref had his back turned. The ref used his best judgment and assumed that A-Ri tripped him and kicked him out.
They fought outside the ring near the announce table and Jerry even threw The Miz right onto Cole.

This knocked out Michael Cole which was funny. Booker T and Josh Mathews were really happy though.
Lawler looked as if he was about to hit his piledriver finisher (which is banned by the way) so that means he won't be hitting it. The Miz reversed it and gave him a Skull Crushing Finale to retain the WWE Title.
Final Result: The Miz retains the WWE Championship by pinfall.
Semi-clean win for the heel here. The only distraction was A-Ri but he was ejected early in the match so it doesn't really count.
RAW Elimination Chamber Match to determine the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania: John Cena vs John Morrison vs R-Truth vs Randy Orton vs King Sheamus vs CM Punk
This was a great match as well but the reason why I didn't like it as much as the Smackdown one was because of R-Truth. For the Smackdown match, I liked it so much because everyone played a part in it. R-Truth did NOTHING in this match.
Morrison and King Sheamus started the match. I believe Orton came in at #3 and he went to work. Punk was next to come out and Orton was waiting for him in front of his pod. Punk's pod couldn't open properly (mostly because the ref wouldn't turn the lock open all the way)
It was kind of stupid because Punk was trying to get out. It would have been smarter if he just stayed inside. Either way, Orton eventually pulled him out and kept attacking him. He gave Punk a quick RKO and eliminated him. As Punk was leaving the Chamber, the RAW GM told Punk to go back in his pod because of what happened. The way Punk crawled back into the pod was

funny.
R-Truth came out next and like I said, did nothing. He got eliminated really fast. Cena came out 5th and then Punk came out 6th. Punk got the upper hand on Orton this time around and quickly eliminated him.
Morrison looked pretty amazing in this match and climbed the chamber like Spiderman. He elminated Sheamus when he dropped down on him from the top of the Chamber.
The finish came out of nowhere as they were pressed for time. Morrison hurt his leg in the match so Punk gave him a GTS and eliminated him. After that Cena gave Punk the Attitude Adjustment onto the steel and won.
Final Result: John Cena wins the RAW Elimination Chamber.
The PPV ended at 7:56 PM. That's really cutting it close. The only reason this got a 9/10 and not a perfect 10 was the filler inbetween. They wasted time promoting Tough Enough. It was cool to see Trish Stratus return but like I said, wasted a lot of time.
They even had a segment where Kelly Kelly got re-hired by Teddy Long. LayCool came out to attack Kelly Kelly because she tried to go after Vickie. Trish came out to make the save and botched some moves because she was wearing heels.
All the divas were in heels.. wear wrestling boots when you're in the ring!!
Overall, it was a really enjoyable PPV. Looking forward to Wrestlemania!
