WWE RAW, Smackdown, & PPV Discussion Thread 2012 & 2013

Did anyone catch WWE Main Event on ION? I thought it was pretty well done. They did their best in making the CM Punk vs Sheamus match seem like a big fight.

They had pre-match interviews, 20+ minutes of action, and then post-match interviews! Very interesting format. The only thing I didn't care for was the video package hype at the beginning of the show that pretty much just introduces the characters to the audience who may not know who CM Punk or Sheamus are.

They also had a Tag Team Match to end the show, which is a part of the tournament. Zack Ryder and Santino vs Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel. Unfortunately, by the time they were in the ring it was already 8:53 PM. Not much to work with when given so little time.

Either way, I thought it was kind of neat. Completely unnecessary to have a random 1 hour show in the middle of the week though.. but hey, if ION is paying good money then I don't blame WWE.

I just feel bad for their crew and wrestlers. They're working all these extra hours and probably aren't getting paid any more than they already do

Monday - Superstars and 3 hour RAW Supershow
Tuesday - Main Event, Superstars, Saturday Morning Slam, and Smackdown
Friday - RAW House Show
Saturday - RAW and Smackdown House Show (2 different shows)
Sunday - RAW and Smackdown House Show (2 different shows)

The RAW roster gets Tuesday - Thursday off (though some RAW wrestlers constantly appear on Smackdown anyway, so they only get 2 days off).
The Smackdown roster gets Wednesday - Friday off.

That is freaking brutal.

2.5 rating, worse in 15 years, and what does Vince do...puts himself on Raw and fires the head writer. How about dumping the 3 hour show?

I want results, or I want resignations.

Direct quote from the bitter old man today to the producers...you can't make chicken soup out of chicken bleep. End the brand split, return Raw to 2 hours, get rid of the "authority figure", and maybe people will start watching again.

Bad move on Punk's part.

Looks like he was trying to take a swipe at the guy on the left of the screen who tried to touch/push him. The innocent bystander in the back was putting on sunglasses (WHY?). It's still weird though that after Punk gave him an elbow, he proceeded to punch him out.

If Punk drops the title at Hell in a Cell (or even before), you know he's in some serious trouble.

Here's another video. Perfect angle on why Punk clobbered that dude. Looks like he got shoved onto Punk twice from fans behind him. At least it looked that way.

I don't watch much wrestling anymore but I saw the GIF TooCool posted in the Shartbox and wanted to find a video. I came across this one...

Skip to 01:50 if you don't want to hear the guys personal opinion, that's when the breakdown of the incident begins and he actually does a pretty damn good job.

This match was taped about a month ago and recently aired on Saturday Morning Slam. Been waiting for them to air this since it got "rave reviews". It's extremely kid friendly and I enjoyed this short match.
